Taking careful consideration during professional conversations, I will be independently recording notes of the amount of times that I overshare personal information in hopes to deter doing this as much by the end of the semester.

Reflection: I believe that I've made progress toward meeting this goal because I have noticed on several occasions where I've stopped myself from oversharing personal information in conversation with my peers and teachers. I haven't necessarily been recording physical notes, however I have been taking mental notes during times when I notice myself oversharing or stopping myself. I have noticed that I tend to overshare more when I am nervous or stressed out. I believe this was a good observation to make because it allows myself to notice when I am more likely to overshare during conversation. In the future, I will continuously make strides toward maintaining a professional identity in and outside the classroom.

Given access to "Meditation Mountain" on Spotify, I will meditate at least 4 times a week over the course of the summer semester in order to incorporate mindfulness into my life and reduce the overwhelming anxious feeling I occasionally have during the week.

Reflection: I believe that I have made great strides toward meeting my goal of reducing the anxious feelings that I get in certain situations. I did not meet the requirement of meditating 4 times a week, but I did on average meditate about 2-3 times per week. I realized that I was feeling anxious in the morning or at night before a busy day/week and utilized meditating through "Meditation Mountain" to reduce these feelings. I did continue to feel anxious throughout the semester, but I was stepping in the right direction compared to how I was feeling at the beginning of the semester. I will continue to use meditation, and even try a new guided meditation source, to help reduce stress and anxious feeling that I have in the future.

In the beginning of the semester, I was watching YouTube videos of major religions, however after about 3-4 weeks I stopped. I am unsure as to exactly why I stopped completely, but I did have a lot of assignments going on in other classes that may have felt more important at the time. I intend to continue trying to learn more about different cultures and religions. Instead of watching a YouTube video once a week, I could incorporate a podcast or even an article to help me engage in different learning formats. I also should not be limiting myself to once a week. I could watch/listen/read multiple sources per week if I find the time.

Because of the upcoming presidential election, I have been seeing the LGBTQA+ community give their views upon their decisions and have been reading many articles where members voice their opinions due to their affiliation with the community. I believe that I will continue to read more resources to better understand the community more.

This photo was taken after our group presented our Diverse Voices poster on Friday, July 26th. This was my first group that was formed for an assignment at UNE and it allowed me to obtain an immense amount of group experience for further group/interprofessional projects and assignments. Bella and Libby (photographed) were great additions to the group and we were all able to professionally grow as we completed this extensive project. Although we worked well together, this experience showed me that I have a lot to work to do for future group projects and collaboration work.

I was tired and beginning to feel some of the affects of burnout that some students experience in graduate school. It may have been because of these circumstances that this quote really hit me, or because of it's powerful message that it portrayed. It showed me that even though you may not have as much natural attributes as someone else, you can shine brighter than them by outworking them and obtaining a positive mental attitude by doing so. This is an attribute coveted by many professionals, more than pure intelligence or charisma.

On July 17th, our cohort, and cohorts of other health professionals and faculty met in Innovation Hall for an interprofessional event. During this event we were exposed to working with other professionals to understand more about responsibilities and expectations. This was extremely helpful with not only the educational aspect, but building professionalism in the work place. By understanding the roles and responsibilities of others, it will allow my future work environment to run efficiently and professionally. Knowing the limits of other professionals, my profession, and how the professions overlap will help with future clients and intervention tactics. In this reflection, I was able to outline the important topics that relate to the interprofessional aspect of working with others as well as the topics that I know I need to work on in the future.

Although the four of us have built a great professional relationship within the classroom, it is important that we do so outside of the classroom as well. Through the activities of playing basketball, we are able to talk freely about our experiences during school and provide a great support system for each other. By creating this healthy relationship and support system, it allows for us all to lean on each other when we need help and feel open to expressing our feelings about graduate school, indirectly benefitting our professional identities.

After some discussion with family members and friends, I decided to find help through guided meditations. My sister sent me this guided meditation through YouTube. I listen to this meditation in the mornings when I feel overly stressed or anxious. By dealing with this stress as it occurs and not letting it become worse, I am able to continue working effectively. By realizing the levels of stress I was exhibiting and proactively finding ways to deal with it, I was taking care of myself so that I can present myself with professionalism during class and events.

Because I commute approximately 1 hour 15 minutes to class each way, I was beginning to get bored of music and wanted to explore other sources of entertainment during the drive. I found an occupational therapy podcast that discusses topics of occupational therapy for OTPs and OTP students alike. The host also has special guests on that inform the audience about things they specialize in or have done extensive research about. This podcast allows me to hear about more OT knowledge and experiences outside of the classroom and helps me build upon my professional identity established through UNE's curriculum.

In Occupational Analysis, we were prompted to complete four group assignments that analyzed four different occupations. For the first assignment, my group and I made sure we had a lot of freedom to complete the task and didn't converse with each other as much as we should have about completing the assignment. Because of our lack of collaboration, we didn't receive a great performance grade. As a group, we got together and established roles and divided work so that on the next assignment we could complete the work efficiently. Because of our change in professional collaboration, we then received highly marked grades for the rest of the assignment. Our ability to overcome the challenges of the first assignment and deal with adversity to complete the rest of the assignments allowed myself to see how important it is to be professional in group work. (I won't say my group members' names because I didn't ask for their approval in using that scenario as an artifact for this project)

Starting graduate school, I understood that professionalism was an aspect that was taught throughout all courses. I took it upon myself to make sure that I looked physically professional. I purchased clothes that differed from my usual wardrobe (jeans and a t-shirt). I believe that by wearing these clothes, others will perceive me as being more professional. I also think by looking professional, you will feel and act professional as well.

Something I love to do is fishing, it gives me a sense of relaxation and really allows me to forget about anything that's been giving me a hard time. During this semester, there were times when I felt extremely stressed because of the amount of energy I've been putting toward school. I decided that I needed to go fishing to release some of this tension. By only focusing on school and forgetting about the things that make me happy can really do a toll on my mental health. By finding time for things I like, like fishing, I was able to release some of the stressful tension that I've been building up and really focus on myself which helps my ability to perform well in school.
