The telephone rang

You were in the hospital once again

This time most likely was the end

The sadness washed over me

We drove 100 miles to see you

I remember

Seeing my grandpa cry for the first time

It was my turn to talk

This time would be our last

You pulled me in for one last hug

Throughout the last 5 years

Those words have carried through me

Just as your presence has

The vibrant color of bumble bees

That falls from the trees in the cool breeze of autumn

A glimpse of hope on a rainy day

Reminding me of the golden sun

Creating a sense of euphoria

Signifying hope just beyond the horizon

A source of warmth on a freezing day
