The following are my three reasons:

    1.      A heart must beat consistently; in the same way, classroom management must consist of procedures that are enforced consistently by the instructor, where each student knows clearly what is expected of him or her.
    2.      A heart represents love, so similarly, students see that you care about them and thus discipline is for their own good.
    3.      The heart serves a vital role in the functioning of the body, but you often don’t know it’s there since it is well-integrated into the everyday functioning of things; the same goes for a well-organized system of classroom management.

    I don't mind "waves" or a little bit of background noise because I know it will be easy to get everyone back on track. I have a pretty high tolerance for background noise because I think it is unnatural to expect kids to be perfect all the time. 

    I address big waves as they come, and I know that everyone is able to float along because the disruptions are uncommon.

    2) The teacher should "captain" the boat or in this case the students. The teacher should support and guide the students like the class like a captain.
    3) Like a boat the teacher should not let water in which makes it sink.     I also chose the soldier because, much like a soldier, I expect the students to listen to and follow instruction. The students also are expected to take responsibility of their actions and work.

    Additionally, soldiers always feel a tight knit bond with the people in their platoon.

    ·         Teacher realize to fix the behaviour will take a while. It is a journey and will not be fix in a day. Like most long boat trips.
    ·         The boat final destination represents the goal for the behaviour. The child may not reach the desired goal that year. But eventually the child will reach that destination with help from this year teachers and other teachers in the future.

Just kidding. I chose ruler because a few semesters ago I read about the social emotional approach RULER. It stands for Recognizing, Understanding, Labeling, Expressing and Regulating emotions. Students in a ruler classroom are more likely to be less anxious and have better social skills. Students are also able to control their emotions and express them in a more effective way (verses outburst that gain class attention). Students are better at solving problems, learning, and have a better academic performance.
