The 3DE program has impacted my life by making me more business oriented and open minded. I’ve sat in on many meetings, lectures, and attended many field trips. These opportunities have taught me so much and have prepared me for a life outside of Banneker High and in the business world. I’ve grown accustomed to many things that most in South Fulton haven’t gotten a chance to experience or may think is outside of their reach. I can walk into any room with a sense of purpose and know that I belong and most of that comes from teachings I’ve learned within this program. I’ve always embedded teachings and traits within myself to become a leader and to be great and with 3DE they’ve helped me push that agenda.

Mostly I think I learned how to communicate the most. 3DE allowed us to work with many different companies with different problems and each time with a different group. With this being the case there was a never a time where you didn’t have to make an adjustment or try a different approach to something or someone than you did the last time.

Being in 3DE has been the best decision of my highschool years. 3DE has impacted me by allowing me to come out of my shell. I came into 3DE shy and quiet. The more we had presentations and had to talk to businesses, the less i became an introvert. 3DE also benefited me by allowing me to participate in a plethora of things such as tutoring , community service, starting my business and so much more. My advice to any underclass-men having doubts is don’t. Being in 3DE has so much benefits that will be helping me even after i graduate and for that I am grateful.

There are not many people who can make financial service classes interesting and engaging, but I found myself excited to go to your class everyday. In Addition to the core competencies, 3DE has taught me that being part of a team and working well with others is a really important skill to have. A lot of the most successful people ever get their jobs through connections, so I’m glad that 3DE taught me how to establish good ones. I remember when Dr. Smith had given us a class that was specifically on “Code-Switching” and I thought to myself, “omg, I’m actually going to need this…!” I think that the relationships that I made and the foundation I was given to make even more is the most valuable that I have gotten out of 3DE, thank you so much!

I feel like I can say 3DE has mostly impacted my social skills and teamwork. I liked doing my assignments individually and hated group projects. In 3DE I was put into a variety of teams where we had to communicate with each other to come up with a solution. With each case study we met more people and I felt more comfortable working in a group and meeting new people.
