Ever since I was diagnosed with depression and anxiety. Mental health became one of my top priority in life. It is because I believe that having a healthy mental state will lead you to a long and happy life. I realized that in order to have a peace of mind is to let go of negativity from toxic people that are hindering you from self growth.

Life is too short to dwell on having this kind of relationship. It is also important that whatever problems we may encounter, we should always be prepared on how to battle this.

Most people including me would tend to avoid or turn away from their problems because who would like to have this heavy feeling, right? But from what I remembered, my psychiatrist told me to always acknowledge the pain that I'm feeling, same as the line from the book TFIOS (The Fault in our Stars) where "Pain demands to be felt". Having to acknowledge this emotional pain might be overwhelming but once I let this out, it is the best or fulfilling moment in the world because repressing your feelings inside of you will never be healthy.

There's a lot more to improve on about myself but I'm so happy to have found a new me that I never thought would be possible or even existed. I'm grateful for where this new found self is right now and headed towards - happy and blessed.

As I mentioned before, because of my depression I had to drink medications which caused my excessive weight gain. I have received negative comments that "I got fat" "I look ugly" and such. These comments greatly affected my self confidence and self esteem.

There was a time wherein every picture I was in, I cover it to avoid getting those comments that I fear on that moment. Also, the way I look at myself greatly changed wherein I have to wear loose clothes to hide my body because again I was insecure or wasn't really confident with the body that I have.

One day, I realized to use those hate comments as a motivation in improving my physical health. I also learned to constantly instill in my mind that I'm doing this for myself but not for the validation of others.

Months have passed, because of hard work and discipline I am proud to say that I have lost 20lbs and manage to trim down my waist from 31inches to 26 inches. I know that this is only the start of my journey in achieving physical wellness and I have a lot of things to improve on but I am up for the challenge.

All throughout my life, my family has always been very religious. With that I conform to the rules they have set but it doesn't go beyond that. But as I grow older, I realized the essence of having a deep relationship with God. Making God as the center of my life, will bring me to a healthy and peaceful life. There might be times where I go astray but I always find myself going back to what I believe in which is Him.

This pandemic has made me a lot more closer to God because it challenged me on how will I keep my faith alive despite the health restrictions. Some of the ways I ventured is reading a book entitled "Didache" which is a daily bible reflections for Catholics. This book served as a daily reminder to me about how to keep my faith alive. Another way is constantly attending online mass every Sunday with my family. Lastly, I try to pray as much as possible because praying is accessible for all, anywhere and anytime. God is always with you, just waiting for you to call Him.

No matter what comes my way, God has me covered. I have peace in my heart that He will always provide. God didn't promise us to shield us from problems and trials, but He did assure that He will be with us through it all.
