The Manhattan Project was developed by Albert Einstein and Robert Oppenheimer. In 1945, President Truman warned the Japanese to surrender or prepare to be destroyed, in which Japanese refused. To avoid Americans losing any more lives, Truman dropped two atomic bombs on the cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki killing 230, 000 people instantly.
