So I've thought carefully about what colour scheme l want to use when designing my Digipak. As colour is one thing that can create cohesion between the products I've tried to incorporate colour schemes that symbolise the themes within our music video as well as visually link the print work to the music video. In my research l noticed that Pop music digipaks/album adverts use a contrast of both bright and muted colours; dependent on the artist. The bright colours representing the excitement the pop genre conveys, while the muted colours are used as a more contemporary appeal, (as pastel/muted colours are in fashion).

Usually, the colours used in both album advert and digipak are cohesive to a particular music video, so they adapt there colour scheme to this also as well as the artists star image

Colour Scheme Potentials

The colour schemes I've chosen are all a mixture of colours from both sections of our music video. The outdoors scenes are represented by the natural colours, such as the green and blues. While the pinks, purples symbolise the stage lighting in the performance section of the music video, as well as being popular colours used within the Pop genre. I've incorporated both sections into my colour schemes because it emphasises the difference between the natural and artificial settings, adding to the artists star image and reiterating the differences between the two performers. This creates a visual link between the print work and the music videos.

In all three colour schemes I've decided to use white, as this symbolises purity and freshness; again relating to the natural setting used in the music video. I also wanted to use this colour as a background colour as it is easy to build on top of during the editing process. But also it's a common convention within pop music as it allows the audiences attention to be drawn to the photography (usually of the artist), overlaying the background.
