Its historical fiction because it tells you about certain times in history and what happened with a completely made up family. Whats happening in the book right now is the Grandma is baking a pie for a competition and she goes to the competition and her rivel is there, so when they both put down their pies she switches the names around hoping she will win. When they announce she did not win she got very shocked and mad, so what she did is she took the ribbon that was on her hat off of her hat and she made a "blue ribbon" and she ended up getting her way into the prize and got to go on a plain ride. When she goes on the plain ride she cannot get in because she is too heavy, but the diver of the plain tries to take off. When he takes off he has to land after a while because there is too much weight.
