The Chinese government should not put so much emphasis on scoring very high grades to get into the universities and should provide subsidies or cheaper universities for these low-income students. As for the job issues, government can create more jobs opportunities for these graduates. Parents should comfort their children if they did not score well and do not scold them for being useless as this will hurt them further, instead they should ensure their children that they can always retake the examinations or study in a cheaper universities.

These issues exist as there is a very strong emphasis on having an excellent education qualification before one can find a job. Government probably also has strong emphasis on education as well, making it really difficult for people to find job without qualifications. In the work force, having basic IT skills is important as well, hence without these basic skills, it will be hard for the workers to adapt to the working environment and manage their work, resulting in long hours of OTS.

I've always hear that the Singapore educational system is one of the top notch in the world. With various subjects ranking top 10 in the world. The competition in Singapore is also very high as many people have qualifications due to the Governments policy on minimal education for everyone.
After watching the documentary, I was very shocked as i didn't know that the competition in China is higher than Singapore's. The prior knowledge I had on China's educational system is that the college entrance exams in China is exceptionally challenging.
So, this documentary changed my views greatly, as not only is then competition strong, it is also life determining.

Education scam syndicate is also common as they target rural areas where people have no education or little education. Thus making them vulnerable to scam syndicates due to the lack of general knowledge.

When there is a rising demand for education, many scam syndicate will rise as the demand for education is not met.
Competitiveness of the college entrance exams is inevitable due to the large population in China.

The issues raised in this documentary includes how rural children have limited education opportunities. Most parents have to rely on borrowing money from their neighbors and friends in order to pay for their children's education. Due to this lack of education and the desperate need for an education in order to have a better life, it gave rise to scams in which some colleges promise that their graduates would be able to graduate with a degree and find a job, for a hefty price. In reality, the degree that those colleges provide are useless and their graduates would not be able to find a job. Another issue brought up is how a graduate might find difficulties finding a job because of the competitiveness surrounding them. Graduates there have to settle for any job that they can find, even if it may not fit the degree that they graduated with because for them, having a job is the priority, not the kind of job that they have.

The Chinese government should invest more into education in rural areas. They should be warned of these college scams so that they will not waste their money and time on them. The Chinese government should also look into creating more job opportunities for graduates and consider equipping them with skills that will be useful overseas so that some graduates can consider looking for jobs outside of China.

After this documentary, I changed both my views on China and Singapore. I have always thought that China was a vast land of opportunities and anyone would be able to succeed there if they worked hard enough. However, now it seems as if China is a tough place to survive in and even their own people have troubles surviving there. People there work so hard yet they are deprived of the chances that they deserve I am thankful for the care that Singapore's government has given me and that I do not have to face the same stress that people my age in China do.

Due to overpopulation in China, it is very hard for one to get into a good university. There would be many students getting perfect grades and it is very hard to compete with them for a spot in a university.
As a result, many students would not be able to graduate from a renowned university and thus, would not be able to get a good enough good to earn money to feed themselves or their family.

I always thought the bigger there country, the more job opportunities there would be. Since China is much bigger than Singapore, I thought it would be a great idea to find a job in China instead. However, after watching the documentary, I realised that China only recognises the A level certificate, and that a diploma certificate would not be able to get a job there. Thus, I feel that Singapore focuses more on the skills one possesses, instead of the level of certification. Therefore, in my opinion, I feel that Singapore provides more job opportunities than China.

I think that the Chinese government can do more in terms of creating legislation that would clamp down on sham universities, regulate the difficulty of the 高考 so that it would be more equal in the sense that kids from the smaller cities without access to the same resources as kids from the bigger, more advanced cities can have the same opportunity to do well and be on equal standing so that the result they achieve will be as true a reflection of their abilities as possible.

I always felt that the Chinese and Singaporean education system were both stressful and demanding in their own ways. I also felt that the struggles of graduates in the job market was similar. However, after watching this video, I feel that the education system in China is more inbalanced than Singapore, in the sense that the wealth disparity plays a bigger part. I also felt that it was a lot tougher to find a job in the Chinese job market. Hence, my view of China now is that it is much more challenging to live there than in Singapore.
