It is caused by a mutation that makes the bone marrow create too many blood cells. Treatment includes phlebotomy and medication to either destroy cancers or lower the rate of hematopoiesis.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Sickle cell anemia is a form of anemia that is inherited. It causes blood cells to form into sickle shape, and die early. Because the blood cells die early, it leaves a shortage of red blood cells, making blood clots that cause pain. <br>To treat sickle cell anemia, the patient can receive a bone marrow transplant, but it's recommended for patients under 16, because the risk increases as the patient gets older. Patients can also receive blood transfusions, or take medications to help reduce and prevent pain.<br><br></div>]]></description>
