these songs are about feeling the need to get home to somewhere that's good for you but also about how the world is becoming so digital. the song will contain lyrics on social commentary about the rising social identification downfall of the high street and the lack of social interaction in the modern world. we chose these social factors as start to our songs as we believe strongly about these issues

they are definitely shoe gaze me and my friend Francis really enjoy this genre of music alot we definitely took that as our inspiration also a-bit rocky vibe to it aswell

Pink Floyd, Mazzy star are definitely the biggest inspiration along with the Beatles. I used there methods of producing.

for example putting the drums and acoustic guitar in the left ear. and having bass electric guitar in the middle I think it sounds quite good however people may feel its very out of date to use such techniques.

this was my presentation with Anna Jason Nico and myself

in my opinion this project has been the best so far this semester I feel like we put a lot of energy into this we also tried to make it funny we put a lot of effort into this presentation we spent a few weeks working together in class working through slides to make it the best presentation we could

we discussed how we chose our songs

and how they linked to each other.

we also put down how our stage layout was set up to show the audience how we prepared for our performance.

I discussed who was in the band and our what are roles where this. Jason was on lead myself on bass Anna Nico and MJ on vocals Evan on drums herminone on acoustic guitar.

in this performance we proformed creep sex on fire and wicked game I think this went very well aswell sex on fire our second song on the set took me of guard at the start I did not come in on beat however I managed to get back in on time the bass part was pretty easy to play after that I was adding in some groves to the baseline to make it sound bigger I was adding in octaves which made the bass part stand out a little bit more. the chords are E, C sharp minor A this song was really fun to play. wicked game has 3 chords Bm A E Jason added a pretty neat guitar solo at the start if the song this led in to the main riff of the song. the vocal harmonies were also very good in this preformance. Nico Jason and Mj had practiced a lot on these which added to the song making it sound so much bigger. I was just playing root notes on this song providing a steady baseline.

today in class we discussed different songs we went over 4 different types

rhythmic provides the structure and organizes the flow of sound

we chose sweet child o mine. and skater boy because we all really like these songs they are challenging and very fun to play especially sweet child o mine it was Anna and dez that chose these songs and we all agreed that they would be the perfect songs for us to preform at the mash house

in class for the last 3 weeks we have been working on sweet child o mine it has been going pretty well we have got most of sweet child o mine down its just the guitar solo we need down and its finished. also the bass solo/intro needs some work I was practicing last night and got it down on time and without any mistakes so I'm feeling very confident about it for next Wednesday

yesterday me Anna den Hayden and David were working on our own composition. I think it has bit of a indie sound the song uses A D Em we are still working on it but I think it sounds promising me dev and cayden where laying down grooves that made the song very interesting and almost a full sound. it still has work to be done on it

over the last week I have been using my old keyboard.

it has fantastic range of sounds. It definitely is one of my favourite instruments. I was adding lots off strong effects to add to the not very positive theme of the video

for example

there is there is 6 different inputs on the keyboard I was mainly using strings and brass. I think these add a very interesting sound. almost like a drowning mystical sound which is th best way I can describe it.

there is also a several settings that filter the sound you can just about make any sound you wish on this. its also perfect for shoe gaze songs which is perfect for me as I love crafting songs in that style.

I added a few sounds I wanted one of the sounds I made to sound like a heartbeat but It sort of blends into the background but I also like the fact that its subtle.

I was working on a few different sounds and ways to have the sound played on the project. I was changing channels and putting diffarant sounds in diffarant speakers

at the end I used a effect where its unsettling I was trying to create a building up sound at the end then it would suddenly go out at the end.

its just A D Em its quite catchy I use lots of octaves in this song but there is also some nice playing a few licks in the song that seem fit in quite nice

we also played skater boy that song was a lot of fun to play we had not practiced that one as much as the other 2 however i think it still went very well. we also played sweet child o mine which we played last we defiantly spent the most time on that song and we have been rehearsing that one the longest.

I think I played better this gig than the last one I felt more preprepared for this I had been practising every day to prepare for this gig I was learning the bass solo the longest in sweet child o mine. originally the timing was a little off for me I was struggling to play however i manged to smooth it out and make sure it was sounding ready i watched many play along videos to prepare they were really helpful a lot better than songster

skater boy went well. it definitely was our least played song however we manged it quite well and played through with no problems I was struggling to hear the guitars on this song but after we had finished I could hear the guitars better in sweet child o mine

I started off by lowering all the tabs and slowly making them louder i do this on my own songs i gives me clear sound of how it sounds slightler quiter and louder. I also had the harmonies slightly louder so its more prominent in the mix. I also added some chorus and reverb to it which i also think it adds to the overall sound of the mix.

I hard panned the vocals to left and right which makes it sound quite nice it makes it blend in to the overall sound

I also was using a lot of different techniques like adding in a second guitar track with chorus to add some more depth to the guitar which I think sounded quite nice.

I was gonna also add some drums in aswell but my electric drum kit broke which set me back. however I feel like how it sounds is good.

practicing all my loving in bass lessons for this class I felt like the song was abit easy so I am now learning can't stop in my bass lessons. I felt like I did really well on the performance I was on time consistent and had good energy on stage. the song is .

I had been playing it lot I play the baseline everyday as practice. as it is a good rhythm good walking baseline. good for learning scales. E MAJOR scale. I chose this song as I think it was some of Paul McCartney best work it one of the Beatles early hits the bass is very present in the song really driving the song. it was one of the first Beatles songs I ever heard.

I felt like this song was definitely easier than most however it has a lot of technical things like slides and changing scale pattens but if you remember the scale shapes it does click and becomes a lot easier

I felt mostly calm as in the video I feel very confident but a lot of the movement is me keeping time in my head I learned but it defienelty helped me learn shapes on the bass which is useful to making groves and baselines

next time I will definitely learn faster to see how much I have improved I had been learning the song at 50%. I will
