• I believe that I fully utilized the digital ethics of including documents, pictures, programs, and personal/private information in an ethical manner.

• Looking back at my student portrait, I believe that I fully employed the available digital tools and platforms in order to complete tasks such as using Google Translate to understand how to pronounce a phrase or character (since I am use to Cantonese pronunciation).

• When assessing further information online for projects such as the Chinese Culture research, I made sure to evaluate the credibility of those information on online sources but doing more verification.

• When doing projects such as the Chinese Culture research, I made sure to use effective databases to access and interpret the relevant online information such as utilizing the links the professor provided in the description of the project.

Content Development:

• I believe I did an effective job when adapting my content that is intentional in its ability to convey a message to a particular especially when balancing my Chinese “difficulty” in between what other students are evaluating mine as well as taking into the account of what the professor is reading as well, while also making it easy/intermediate for me to pronounce these Chinese phrases/terms in Mandarin Chinese. 

Presentation Skills:

• Throughout my portrait, I used various communication strategies to enhance the effectiveness of content delivery in a presentation through putting the English subtitles in my assignments while also inputting the Chinese translation directly under those lines. I also used another form of communication such as recording myself reading my assignments of stories and conversations while sometimes also including a digital ai generated recording as well (in case if my pronunciations are inaccurate).

Clarity of Expression:

• While I did try to use intentional tone and language choices when completing my assignments, I know I wasn’t exactly the best at it at conveying the emotions, I still have a lot to work on in terms of conveying the information in an intentional tone that aligns with what I say.

Listening and Communication Skills:

• I believed I demonstrated effective listening and communication skills especially when it came to the Chinese Culture Research project. I was able to demonstrate an active listening to understanding new ideas such as the different Chinese innovations. At the same time, I was able to demonstrate active listening to new ideas and the perspectives of these ideas through the work of other students. Students had to complete the same project as me, and though I never thought I’d find researching about Chinese operas interesting, I found myself enjoying the perspective of this topic from a student’s point of view and gave constructive feedback to others as well.
