When a class is done reading a story, with each other or to them selves, they can have class discussing/carpet time. This gives the children a chance to experience their peers minds on what they thought. Every child has different experiences which they came up with their answer. Children interacting with other by using tools such as the note board will give them a chance to experience vocabulary as well.

Most children sound out their words before actually writing them or sound out the words before reading aloud. This helps the children with the alphabet and the sounding of the letters. Knowing the sounds of the letters give the children a opportunity to recognize which letter it is in the alphabet.

A word wall is having the children’s sight words or words discovered for them to know about. The word wall is a visual learning method as well. Children can learn better by sometimes actually seeing how it’s spelled so they can maybe sound it out or recognize a letter in the word that will help them know what the word is.

When children read or work as partners together they can learn more off of each other’s feedback. They connect more due to close age and similar experiences. Children reading aloud to teachers helps the children share her ways of reading and will help the teacher determine other reading ways for her. Shared reading is collaborating.
