The first was a barstool podcast by Alex Cooper. And the second one was an inspirational podcast on the topic of anxiety by Lillie Rhinehart. I noticed very different aspects in both. In the barstool podcast, the sounds were loud, a lot of laughter, and explicit lines. Whereas, the inspirational one was calm, soothing, and made one feel at piece. Based on the audience, both of these podcast are very good. I did comedy, science, and true crime. All of these had different intros and sounds. The comedy one started by taking a funny clip from the podcast then playing upbeat music. The science one started with a quote about life and then played music that sounded like Star Wars effects. The music and way the people spoke was very suspenseful. I think that aspect kept people interested because you don’t know what they are gonna say next and what’s going to happen next. Dave Portnoy was the guest for the episode I listened to. I also listened to a part of MMG Live. MMG is a YouTuber who does twitch streamed podcasts about the NFL. It’s about a mystery murder in a small town in Alabama. I found it interesting that the introduction was about how antique clocks work and peoples struggle to fix them today. I have a feeling that this concept of old things breaking and being near impossible to fix will be a theme that plays out in this podcast. There were transitions from the clock story to the first interviewer who actually had reached out to the radio station company. I think both podcast’s intros do a good job of getting the viewer hooked into the podcast. You immediately know what person you are going to listen to because you hear it each video. Emma immediately begins speaking about the topic (which was “our addiction to character assassination”). This grabbed my attention immediately and made me want to continue listening. There is no background noise/music, and there are only subtle sound effects when the podcast transitions from the actual topic to an advertisement.
