• During the first week of preparation, we clarified all of our roles and went through the basics of the film. We split into our groups and discussed and went through the script

14th March

• As we have read and now know what's needed I spent the first half of the lesson with Sarah the other lighting supervisor to discuss our thoughts for lighting equipment, and also any techniques we wanted to add for any points in the film.

• The other half of the lesson me and the rest of the props and set dressing people, went through the script scene by scene and made a list of props and set dressing we will need to buy or borrow from others

21st March

• This lesson is when we started to get everything for the film sorted, me and Sarah made a list of equipment we needed and booked it out in the equipment store. This included, 2 Rayzr lights, 2 C-Stands, 3 Aputure lights and also 2 reflector kits.

• For props and set dressing we had a confirmed list of locations so we knew what we needed, I also asked around everyone to see if anyone could contribute for props. We then ordered everything we needed to ensure we had it on time for the shoot.

• Budget for these were managed to be kept low due to being able to resource from a lot of the class.

• Me and Sarah met up to discuss our presentations and to get them completed, we went through everything we have done so far to be able to create our presentations for the assesment

• We then started to go through the locations and make risk assessments for them. We split them into groups so we both got a chance of completing some each.

• After all of this we went up to the equipment store to collect some lighting equipment we booked out, and went to a rehearsal room to do some practice on setting them up and also to learn the settings on the Rayzr lights.

We wanted to add a slight orange glow to one side of his face so show a warmth of this presence, as u can see in the picture above. We also made sure it was not overpowering.

As it was sunny it meant we could use reflectors to add the glow onto the actors faces.

Due to the engagement ring being a main prop for the film we ensured it was brought in everyday.

The lighting in the corridor was very difficult as all sides were green glass doors so it limited places to put the lights.

Lighting was a lot easier as we had the natural light from the windows and also the Rayzr lights.

We had some struggles where it was difficult lighting different shots due to the location or the lighting outside but overall the shoot was very successful.

I played a key part by looking after the lighting equipment and bringing it to the shoot everyday, we kept everything in perfect condition and returned it back to the equipment store on time.

Although there wasn't much to do for this role I still enjoyed it and it all was very successful.

I also played a key part for this role as I provided the gazebo for the outdoor scenes so I needed to ensure I had all the parts for it and also made sure to bring it to the shoot when needed.
