Chickenpox is a highly contagious viral infection causing an itchy, blister-like rash on the skin. Talk to your doctor the right timing for the vaccine. You can prevent chickenpox by avoiding close contact with people infected by the virus. This is even more important if you have a weak immune system. But the virus can spread from an infected person even before symptoms develop. Chickenpox is usually mild and can be treated at home. Most people feel better within a week or so. There is no cure, but the treatments below can help relieve the symptoms while the body fights the infection.

There are many strains, or version, of influenza virus, each, or version, of influenza virus, each slightly different than the others. Them make humans sick, giving us the combination of fever, coughing, body aches, upset stomach, vomiting, and diarrhea that we call the flu. Some strains effect mostly birds giving them avian flu.

Zika Virus is not a new discovery. In fact we've known it for about 70 years. It was first Identified in Uganda's Zika Forest. The virus has now confined to Africa and Asia, but in 2015,Zika was first identified in the Americans. It all started with an outbreak in Brazil. Within a year, there were thousands of Zika cases across Latin America and the Caribbean. It was enough of a spread to call the outbreak an epidemic. Zika is not a serious danger for most people. For those who do get sick the symptoms are usually mild. The most common symptom is an itchy, red rash. Their is also sometimes fever, joint pain or stingy eyes. Most people are back to normal in about a week. In other cases Zika has also been linked to Guillain-Barre Syndrome the body's immune system goes haywire and attacks its own nerves. It can be serious, but it is really rare for that to happen. The much bigger concern with Zika is in pregnant women. Infected mothers Rae more likely to have babies with brain defects like microcephaly. If you don't know what microcephaly is when the brain doesn't fully develop and it leads to issues with speech coordination, and reasoning skills. Zika isn't passed from person to person. It spread most often through mosquito bites. They live in mostly tropical climates. Zika doesn't spread from mosquitoes to humans. It can go from humans to mosquitoes, too. An infected tourist might visit a place with no history of the virus. If the right kind of mosquito bites him, it can get infected. That is how viruses can spread thought places. That is how I discribe Zika Virus.

Muscular dystrophy is the name for a group of medical conditions that affects how a person's muscles work. Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy, or DMD, is the most common form of the condition. It affects one in 3500 boys. Girls can be born with DMD, but it's really rare. Kids with muscular dystrophy don't have muscles that work like they should. Muscles play a big part in the way our bodies develop and function, so a condition that's messing with your muscles is going to affect your overall health. It can be hard to tell when young children have a serious condition like DMD. Kids, and, like we said, usually boys, are generally diagnosed with DMD between the ages of 1 and 6. There are some noticeable symptoms: Children with DMD usually have trouble jumping and hopping. They may fall down frequently, and have problems doing things like: running, climbing stairs, and getting up from a seated positions. Boys with DMD use a move called Gower's Maneuver to stand up. Basically, they'll use their hands and arms to "walk" their bodies upright. Some boys walk on their toes a lot. It's because their achilles tendons tighten up. These signs help doctors spot DMD early. That's important, because the effects of muscular dystrophy are progressive, meaning they increase over time. DMD causes more and more muscle weakness as individual muscle cells die. The muscles don't necessarily get smaller. Lots of times, the muscle cells turn into fat and scar tissue, so the muscle can look big, but it's not strong. As a child with DMD grows up, the condition gets more serious. Things that most of us take for granted, like running, walking, or even hugging someone you love become more difficult as the disease progresses. Kids with DMD will eventually need some help getting around. They'll need to hold onto something as they walk, and eventually use an electric wheelchair or electric scooter. DMD is not contagious. Muscular dystrophy is a genetic disorder that you're with. It's caused by a change in a person's DNA sequence. Muscular dystrophy is a mistake in a part of the program that keeps muscles healthy. The muscles can't produce Dystrophin, a protein that acts as shock absorber to make muscles stable. Treatment is improving all the time, but there's still no cure for DMD. Physical therapy can slow down its progress.

Many scientists believe that smallpox originated more than 3,000 years ago in Africa before spreading to India and China. The virus was so contagious that it swept across continents, wiping out entire populations 20 or 30 percent of people infected with smallpox died, and survivors were left with scars and often blinded in1796 a doctor named Edward Jenner figured out how to successfully vaccinate a person against smallpox. The test subject stayed healthy, and an effective vaccine for smallpox. That meant vaccinating people in all parts of the world. The vaccination plan worked and the last natural case of smallpox occurred in Somalia in 1977, success was announced in 1980.

Cystic Fibrosis
Cystic Fibrosis does cause respiratory problems and people get winded more easily and have trouble breathing sometimes.People with CF cough a lot. Sometime the coughing can be pretty bad, but Cystic Fibrosis is not at all contagious. Those respiratory problems come from thickening of mucus in the lungs. That's a sticky fluid our bodies make to protect and lubricate our organs. In our lungs, it captures unhealthy stuff like germs and bacteria, and when we cough it up out go those harmful microbes. In people with CF, it's much thicker almost like glue. The stickier mucus is the more clogged airways get and make it difficult to breathe, and it also traps a lot of more germs, but it's way harder to expel. So lung infections from chest colds to pneumonia are more common. The thicker mucus comes from a problem with a cell called CFTR. It's part of cell membranes thoughout the body. CFTR controls the flow of water into and out of the cell. When CFTR is working properly. Mucus around the cell is fluid and runny, but when the protein is missing or malfunctioning, water stays trapped inside the cells, as a result, mucus is starved of water, and it becomes thick and sticky. Cystic Fibrosis doesn't only affect the lungs. It also limits the function of the pancreas, an organ that helps you absorb nutrients. Normally, the pancreas releases digestive enzymes into the small intestine. The enzymes break down into the nutrient our bodies needs. In people with CF thick mucus blocks the tubes that deliver the enzymes. So nutrients stay trapped inside the food. Kids with cystic fibrosis often struggle with malnutrition. They tends to be on the smaller side and have trouble ganining weight, and eating plenty of snacks can boost their energy levels. They also take enzyme pills to help them digest. For their lungs, they do daily treatments to keep the airways clear.

Cerebral Palsy is a group of muscles disorders. It's caused by brain injury that occur before birth or very early in life. These injuries can impair movement, coordination, speech, and learning. The word Cerebral means related to the brain. The word Palsy means difficulty with movement. Cerebral Palsy affects different kids in different ways. This problems can affect just about any muscle in the body. It all depends on which area of the brain. The parts of the brain responsible for sending out these messages have lesions, or damage areas. Cerebral Palsy affects kids throughout their entire lives, but it's non-progressive that means it doesn't get worse over time. Cerebral Palsy is non-contagious.
