The goal of this act was to require issuers to fully disclose all material information that a reasonable shareholder would require in order to make up his or her mind about the potential investment. This is saying that stock holders need to provide information about their company's income and sales. This would give buyers a legitimate idea if they should invest in that company instead of going in blindly. Before they could just say that their company would be wealthy but now they had to prove it.

Successful or Not?

I think this program was successful because it forced company owners with stocks to provide true information about their sales. This gave buyers more trust in companies because they saw if they were a good choice to invest in. This helped stop people getting ripped off and stop fraudulent activity.

Responsible use of Federal Funding

Yes i think this was a responsible use of federal funding because it helped people make better decisions of what stock to buy. It forced companies to tell the truth about what they make to the buyers. This helped people begin trusting banks again and trust where their money was going. It also stopped the fake companies that were stealing money.

Critics

Some people might of been critical about this program because they were probably the companies that were lying to their inestors. People also could of been angry that money was going towards this instead of focusing on getting people back on their feet, like the poor.
