My Mom and I used to read this book every night before bed, I wrote NUMEROUS essays on this book all throughout high school, and I just love how Kate DiCamillo paints this story. It will definitely have a place in my classroom.

My favorite book is the Outsiders. The first time I read this book was in the 6th grade in a class full of students that were not totally intrigued nor excited about reading a chapter book. But as the chapters went on i and most students in the class shifted their priority to being fully invested into the novel. At the end of the book we watched the movie and compared and contrasted the story. This was the first time i noticed a class get fully invested in a novel and lead to me wanted to dive deep into more books.
