One is a story about bullying but told with the use of colors. It teaches readers how to stand up to a bully as well as how much mean and hurtful words can hurt. After reading, have the class think about if they have ever had something mean said to them or if they have ever heard anything mean said to someone else. Using a paper heart, each time something mean is said, fold a little piece over. Each fold represents a hurtful thing shared. Once everyone has had a chance to share, the heart will be left all crinkly. Explain to the class how each mean thing said hurts. Discuss ways to prevent those hurtful things and how to stand up to a bully
