The content was good, as you were in depth about why Brian was joining the army, and why he must come back home. Your use of him developing PTSD is a nice touch to the story.

I really like how much of a story the item had before and after his tour than it did during his tour. The character showed growth to face challenges and he developed PTSD because he wanted to prove himself. The complicated relationship with his father makes the story have a depth I appreciate.

The story behind the item is quite believable, and the it's decently written. The distress that he had done on the item was decent, but I almost feel he could have done slightly more with it, like loosening more stitching like he had done in the face. I can imagine that the verbal abuse experienced in the story was a true and very real occurance in the lives of drafted young men.

The story was written in a very realistic take. Everything was believable from the family to the reason why he took the bear and went to war in the first place. The bear could have been more dirtied to give it a more distressed look as it looks a bit too clean, however, the loss of an arm and some undone stitches was nice.

I like how the man in the story went to war to prove himself. I also like the meaning of the bear and how the man used it to keep him going while at war. In the end of the story, he ended up having PTSD which I believe is very realistic as many veterans do end up suffering from the illness.

I liked that you used a little trooper bear as his item he carried as a reminder of his daughter. It sucks that he had to feel like he had to prove himself to his family, but I'm glad he took the doll in order to help him through it.
