2) What did you think of it?]]> 2020-12-04 02:49:46 UTC https://padlet.com/sarah_boesenberg/50pbfoagobtlbg26/wish/986454467 EXAMPLE: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas by John Boyne sarah_boesenberg https://padlet.com/sarah_boesenberg/50pbfoagobtlbg26/wish/986456303 The book is a fable about two boys who become unlikely friends in WWII.  One is Jewish and the other is the son of a Nazi.  They should be enemies but they are too young and naive to understand that, so they are friends. It is all seen through the eyes of Bruno, who is INCREDIBLY naive.  As the readers become increasingly aware of what is happening in the book, the characters stay unaware which creates dramatic irony and suspense. 

The story is simple and unrealistic.  This is NOT historical fiction and should not be seen as factual.  But it is beautifully written to make us care about the two boys and the tolerance they represent.  If you like Bruno, this is a great book.  It helps us see the futility of racism and judging people based on their race or religion.  If you don't like Bruno, it can be frustrating how little he understands and how naive he really is... how could he not know who "The Fury" is?

When the girl uses the mud to fight the bully, they find out something strange about the mud. I like this book because it is very interesting and it also tells not to harm nature. I recommend this book to everyone who likes mud.

There are many brutal  places in the book and I personally think that this is a really good book.
I recommend  this book to people who like battling and fighting.

The story of wonder is not only beatiful as it shows how some people can act with compassion and acceptance but some people fail to look past the face and see beyond that. I also love how it shows the story from not only his perspective, but also the people around hims perspective, and therefore we know more about the characters, and the have equal developement to the main character. It also manages to be consistent in the plot even though it shows multiple perspectives, even in the sequel, that delves into more characters perspectives.

He lived with his dad who worked in the mine but his dad had diseases and he had to be put on a wheelchair. Then Miss. Root, who was a dentist came to town and distributed all of her toothpaste at Alfie’s school. Then there were rumours that the toothpaste was acid and destroyed the children’s teeth, Alfie found that Miss. Root was a witch. Miss. Root kidnapped Alfie’s friend Gabz. To save Gabz, Alfie was also kidnapped by Miss. Root, then Alfie’s dad saves the day and sacrificed himself and died. Before he died, he told the social worker, Winnie to take care of Alfie, Winnie married with the news reporter Raj and Alfie, Winnie and Raj become a family together. I found the book interesting because there was a boy who had rotten teeth and a dentist who was a witch. The book was also tragic and emotional because Alfie’s father died by sacrificing himself but on the flip side, Alfie found another family with Winnie and Raj so the ending was still positive.

People call hi 'The Goldfish Boy' because he always stays in his room or his tank as a metaphor. He spends all his time in his bedroom, too afraid to go outside. His obsessive compulsive disorder makes him afraid that he'll bring in germs from the outside world that will make his loved ones sick and possibly die.

Brystal also recently opened a school of magic. However, when a mysterious witch named Mistress Mara arrives at the academy, the celebrations are cut short. As Mistress Mara begins recriuting fairies into her rival school of witchcraft, it becomes clear that she has dark intentions. Later, outrage has spread throughout the kingdoms in opposition to the legalization of magic. And a dangerous, centuries-old clan kown as the Righteous Brotherhood has resurfaced, with one goal in mind: to exterminate all magical life forever---starting with brystal herself.
I really enjoyed reading this book, and I think it was in the middle of hard and easy because there was a lot of words I didn't know. A Tale Of Witchcraft is part of a series, it is after the events of A Tale Of Magic and before the events of The Land of Stories. This is a fantasy book.

Palacio. It is about a ten year old boy named August. He was born with facial deformity. August was homeschooled by his mum until grade five. The first few days of school were a bit disastrous as he did not manage to make any friends and was even bullied because of his outlook. Later, kids at school realized that August indeed was not different from the others and he was also very smart. They changed their attitude towards August and finally he enjoyed school. At the graduation ceremony August even received an outstanding student award.  
I like this book because it tells me everyone is born different. Some are luckier, some are less. No matter how we look on the outside, everyone should be treated equally.

Harry is a young boy who is abused by his adoptive parents. When Harry receives a letter from Hogwarts: School of Witchcraft and Wizardry,   and a visit from the half-giant Hagrid, AND  being told that he is a wizard, his life changes. He meets Ron Weasly and Hermione Granger, and they become best friends.

I personally think that the Harry Potter series is a very very interesting book series. Rowling puts many sudden turns and twists into the book, and makes you feel empathetic to characters that you wouldnt otherwise, and feel great disliking towards some of the main protagonists. Overall, its very very interesting!!

In order to do this George makes a potion with the craziest types of ingredients. When he serves it to his grandmother in the form of her medicine something completely unpredictable happens to her.

I would give this a 5 star because of all the suspense and comedy. I recommend this book for people who like reading comedy books. I do not recommend this for those who like violent and scary books. Overall this book is my favourite chapter book I've ever read.
