I believe that education is the foundation for life.  As a teacher, we shape the lives of our future leaders, doctors, and global citizens. 

  • I promote critical thinking and problem-solving skills that students will use not only in the classroom but through their lives. 
  • I strive to create a classroom that is inclusive, safe, and culturally responsive. Students need to have a learning environment that fosters a safe space for thinking and making mistakes. 
  • Education should be collaborative effort between teachers, peers, families, and the community.  Working together and using community resources in an important part of creating new and effective educational strategies. 
  • I encourage students to be creative.  I teach them how to question, problem solve, and think on their own. These skills they will take with them beyond elementary school walls. Challenging students creates meaningful learning experiences.
