For the new Americans, they are inexperienced to the culture and reality of the harshness that America offers. Therefore it is a myth. Although there are many opportunities that are available, many new Americans lack the resources to interpret them. This would include language barrier, or lack of knowledge for what is necessary- such as understanding what to do in order to achieve that American Dream. The current modern Americans are more likely to fulfill their "American Dream" because they are exposed to the culture of America. Some one doesnt really just sit around or work fast food all their live and really be happy. Being born into it, isnt really a american dream. you have to work for it. If someone works hard for it and go to school and gets a job they like and they are happy, then yes it can be true.
