I learned that on Goudaloupe there are less dangerous animals in the Rain Forest as I aspected.
I found very interesting as well that the tree with a termites‘ nest will survive and the other trees around will die.

With the many learning experiences today, I found the information about the breadfruittree particulary interesting. For the first few days I had always wondered what these big round fruits were.

Today I liked the information about the plants and how they live together ans profit from each other instead of being seen as a parasite. Thats especially interesting because it can also be adapted to our societies. I also liked the information about the breadfruit and banana tree (well knowing that the last one isnt a real tree). Besides, I found interesting to se how tourism affects natural heritage. I could often see it in the past but today we also saw it here: when we arrived to the small waterfall, no one else was there and it was a nice place. The more tourists came, the less beautiful it was.

Think Globally, Act Locally!

This saying I have already used many times within the local projects to EU ones including at the enlightenment events for public. Why to buy bananas when apples, plums, peaches, apricots in the orchards of our farmers get rotten in the garden grounds, fruits full of vitamins, nutrition.

When the God gave valuable fruits to one climate zone, for sure the God gave the same to another climate zone.

What I learned today??? I learned that longtime before I had the idea to become a global citizen, there where already a lot of people who lived as global citizens.

I went out this afternoon to gain experiences as a global citizen. While doing so, I met another global citizen who lived and worked exactly there, where I gained my first international experiences.
He told me, he worked in Saint-Nazaire, I said him, I lived there in 11 Rue Gabriel Péri for 18 months. He answered: that's near the Chantiers Navals (= shipyard) where I worked, not far away from the bar "A l'abris de la tempête" (= Shelter from the storm).

I had to come to Guadeloupe to encounter somebody who shares this part of my life with me...

Today has shown me that it is necessary to protect nature.
Because only if you live sustainably can this beautiful nature remain.
There are many examples where this is not happening, but if each of us lives a little more sustainably then nature can benefit.

Translating local action to global scale and global citizenship was very interesting. The connection of the individual components and the conference location in the middle of the jungle just fit together very well. I became even more aware of the impact teachers can have and how I can open up my students' perspectives as well. It was an interesting day.

Today was my favorite day so far. I love being in the forest and I love water. I also found was very interesting what we learned about the plants. The symbiosis of the palm trees and the alleged parasites really struck me and made me realize that things are not always what they seem to be. It is important to know both sides of the story!
