Rapid growth in the field of artificial intelligence has caused concern as it becomes more powerful and intertwined in everyday life. The regulations on artificial intelligence also are difficult to set for regulators as they want progress but don’t want a reliance or overwhelming amount of use of this machine. Many states have processed bills regarding artificial intelligence, but the federal government is trying to find a solution that will last. Artificial intelligence is a useful and powerful tool that continues to succeed and develop every day, the regulations are what is currently holding the process of safely using it.

This source, I think, is an excellent choice as it shows a more focused topic with the internet showing how as artificial intelligence develops, there are struggles to regulate it. This is a good reflection. I think of how the internet itself is still not fully regulated and has issues. The benefit is also how the public holds concerns with artificial intelligence, and this may lead to another look being taken at the internet and its effects. This source shows a reflection of the internet on a specific topic while telling what is being done and how more needs to be done.

Question: What effect has the internet and AI had on humans as it continues to develop?

Thesis: Many researchers and different people in the field of technology have begun to see and understand the dangers of the internet and its effects on the human mind. Not only has the dependency of everyday tasks been placed on the internet but it has also begun to further politicize and separate people within multiple societies worldwide. The internet and social media have contributed to a sense of disconnection between people in society. The addiction to devices and the internet is causing a rise in division and violence, which is fueled by the hours of information consumed from a personalized feed deepening the addiction between these users and the Internet.

The source provides many good points on the concern with artificial intelligence. This can cause many disturbances in everyday life or cause issues. Deepfakes have become a major issue that is becoming more common. Deepfakes target big names and create false information often defaming the person. Artificial intelligence has played a major role in creating convincing deepfakes. This causes the public to trust leaders less and not be sure when something comes out.

The source provides a useful topic of deepfakes and how they impact society. Deepfakes, although existing before artificial intelligence, has had irreparable damage on the trust of the public. Learning about these allows us to need to discern between real and fake photos or videos. This source is valuable to my research as it provides a new angle on artificial intelligence and its effects on humans as it develops deeper and faster.

The issue that arises with artificial intelligence is whether these ideas generated can be copyrighted or not. The other issue is if it violates any of the intellectual laws as it may use many different copyrighted works for its generation process. This will cause many issues for the people using it as it is not cited work. There are cases made against some of these companies as they use copyrighted work without giving credit or violating intellectual property law.

This source provides another side of the argument against artificial intelligence as it may violate laws. This is something we must be careful about as it can use information not of its own and claim it is its own work. Similar to how we cite our sources except it does not cite its sources all the time. This will be useful for my work as it allows me to see the legal aspect of artificial intelligence and how it functions with the regulations set or to be set.
