This case refers to the unexplained. This family cant explain the reason that things are flying around their house. I believe that applying critical thinking and skepticism is important here is extremely important here because we need to identify the facts, beliefs and biases here. People tend to fear what they don't see, which refers to emotional connection. This means that these people may not have been thinking right when they saw weird things. Our mind plays tricks. I believe that this case refers to the belief of perception/observation. We can't see everything in this video and assume its a ghost. If I apply critical thinking I immediately put aside my bias of ghost being real. A red flag here is confusion of correlation with causation. People will think that if something moves on its own, that it has to be a poltergeist. There's more behind this. A quick evaluation of evidence tells me a random YouTube video where a can is moving is most likely fake. I feel that the belief behind this case is the emotional connection belief and ideological connection. People wanted to talk with the dead and believed that there was an afterlife. These sisters provided this connection for these people. If I use critical thinking I can evaluate why the sister would do this. The obvious answer on why the would call on poltergeist is money. This leaves me with the idea that they scammed people by throwing voices, using accomplices and strings. People should have seen through their red flag of ideological support. It seems they preyed on people that believed. My critical thinking allows me identify that alternative solution, which outweigh the other theory that his dad is a ghost communicating with him. The website documents 3 cases but the case of Poltergeist Danny stood out. When the Fishmans bought an bed, it supposedly brought out a poltergeist, named Danny, that tormented their son. No one could explain why things moved that notes were left. A parapsychologist believed that the Fishmans son had psychic energy that may have been attributed to it.

I believed that the factor here is the unexplained belief. No one could explain the things that were happening, aside from the parapsychologist. My critical thinking made me analyze this parapsychologist. This was a word I hade never heard before and my evaluation led me to proof that it was a pseudoscience. He would use the red flags of mystical energy to explain his beliefs and that you should believe him, which is appeal to authority. There are so much skeptic flaws in the case that were bungled up because of the "scientist". The picture weighs on the beliefs of ideology. This ideology is that there is an afterlife. In this afterlife they try to connect with us when they are mood or angry by moving things or causing a disturbance. My critical thinking gives me two beliefs. That there is no afterlife and people play pranks; or that there is an afterlife and they do connect with us. I'm unsure about which option to pick but I do lean one way. People use ideological support as a red flag when they look at pictures like this. The belief that could be behind this picture is patternicity. My critical thinking stops me to question if people get confused on what they see. When we look at this picture we can look at two options. Its either a ghost or frost in a weird shape on the window. I think it offers the red flag of confirmation bias. People want to think its a ghost just because its shaped as one. They ignore the obvious scientific facts that its most likely front forming a shape. My critical thinking makes me think that it can be viewed in two ways. Either she is being thrown around or it even looks like she is jumping of her own free will. The red flag I see here is confusion with correlation and causation. People will look at this photo and with the information behind it and believe its a poltergeist. Just because she's in the air with a terrorized look doesn't mean she is jumping. My skeptic views make me think they are doing this for publicity. The thing that I learned most about the topic is there is almost zero proof that there has ever been a real case of a poltergeist. I was also surprised to learn cases seem to be dwindling with more science and ways to get attention in todays world.
2. This topic is interesting to because of the Herman case(which the movie Poltergeist was based on). It was the first case I ever read about as a kid. It made me extremely interested in paranormal and finding if things were as they seem.
3. The research I found most interesting case the Enfield poltergeist case. It was interesting to me as it laid out many beliefs to made on both sides. It was highly publicized with many people debating it for well over 50 years!
4. The thing that I will most likely remember from this research is that poltergeist mainly focus on peoples beliefs of emotional connection, ideologies and unexplained. Do other paranormal cases like sasquatch, aliens and UFOs cater to certain beliefs?
5. The most harmful is ideological support. the problem with this red flag is that it can often lead to people getting hurt or dying because there belief wont let them get help. The lest harmful is mystical energy. I think its partly a scam but I also view it as harmless.
6. My most important lesson to pass on to family and friends is critical thinking. When you're going to look at an idea you need go through this process to make a better solution.
