Q: What is the optimum teacher to student ratio in an OBE system?

A: No ratio specified. You will to be creative when put in a challenging position.

Q: Time taken to achieve the outcome will vary among students. Does this imply it is more time consuming?

Q: Delivery style will differ to cater for different type of students. Will this create more confusion?

Q: Student achievements will differ as one who start with no basic will learn more compared to one who is already well verse with the subject. This may seem unfair!

A: Fair and unfairness shall stay status quo. OBE is an approach that focuses on utiizing the science of learning in practising the arts of teaching. The grades earnedshould reflect how well the learner achieved the targeted outcomes and we can only influence what is within our direct or indirect control. The scoring rubrics specified for each letter grade awarded will definitely depend on the learner preparedness and their diversity. It is you, the teacher, who will determine the most constructively aligned instructional approach to provide the optimum learning experiences for ALL learners. Further, you will need to ensure the assessment tasks really allow ALL learners to demonstrate how well they have achieved the targeted outcome.

Appreciate your comment sir.
