Copy the link into your browser https://www.teachingenglish.org.uk/professional-development/teachers/managing-lesson/low-resource-classrooms. In a group choose an article that interests you. Have a discussion on how you will use the ideas in that article to explain how you will design a lesson about the surface off the earth to a Grade 5 classroom in a low resourced school. Add group names, it doesn't have to be the whole lesson plan just an explanation about resources, teaching strategy and assessment.

We have decided to use a science experiment activity to heal our learners understand concepts surrounding the surface of the earth.
Due to the reduced resources, we have decided to use plants taken from outside the classroom in our experiment.
The learners will take three identical plants and plant them into pots with different types of soil. One pot will contain sand, one will contain clay, and one will contain loam.
The learners will be tasked with observing the health of the plants over the next few weeks. Learners can be asked to determine which type of soil is best for the plant to grow in, and why.
This will aid the development of their knowledge and understanding surrounding the concept of the surface of the earth.

Managing: How to encourage and manage active involvement in group work

Using Group work can be effective. In this video, Merium Aftab from Pakistan shares that when it comes to grouping learners you should group them in their level of proficiency. Discipline during group work is also a problem, but involving students in the rule-making process and getting group leaders to enforce them is one way of dealing with this. For group work to succeed, every student needs a part to play and every student needs to play their part. When it comes to Natural Science the educator can group the learners to do their own research on the topic Planet Earth and beyond and present their findings in class. The resources will include textbooks or the teacher can also provide a worksheet which provides some basic information on the required topic for the presentation. This can serve as an oral assessment for the learners. This way you cater for all learners, visual (posters), auditory (learners presenting) and etc. This will also unlock learners creativity and expand their knowledge.

In the video, teachers investigate and share strategies for encouraging learners to take risks with language and get over their fear of speaking when they are working in environments where learners are reluctant to speak up and fearful of making mistakes.
interacting with learners who are hesitant to speak up and fear making mistakes. In this video, learners Saima Iqbal from Pakistan and Indu Mehta from India discuss how shy some learners are to speak up in class even when they have fascinating thoughts to give.

Indu emphasises the value of establishing a secure and encouraging environment where learners may freely express themselves and their thoughts without worrying about making errors or coming under criticism from their peers. These resources are meant to assist you in developing as a teacher in related contexts, among other things. You are encouraged to consider the questions and have informal or formal discussions about them with your coworkers as a part of your formal professional development.

I agree with this idea, because instead of speaking up they should write notes on a sticky note and give it to her. also having a safe classroom environment helps learners to participate and the lessons will be conducive.

Giving learners data-based projects where they have to formulate their own questions and also form conclusions using textbook and magazines . This can be effective when teaching energy and change under the subtopic of stored energy exploring the input and output energy of burning fuels in grade 5 Natural Science and Technology . The use of the discussion method of teaching is important in learners actively helping one another to demonstrate understanding of given tasks in small or even large groups. Moreover, this will help learners argumentatively come up with solutions to a given problem.
