Quinoa is a plant that grows in Peru and used to keep the Peruvians healthy, but due to the newest Superfood trend the farmers started selling it instead of eating it themselves. Although this development boosted the local economy, Peru is now in a health crisis (especially children) and the Peruvians started eating pasta or rice instead. And even though the price of Quinoa is high, the country still suffers of poverty.
