The monster was part dragon, lion, and goat who ammits fire from its mouth. Bellerophon was a young man who had nothing to do, so he did a quest for the king. He had to slay the monster, but Bellerophon needed a companion. Bellerophon went to the temple of Athena and was given Pegasus, a winged horse. They fought and slaughtered Chimera. Zeus got angry and made Bellerophon fall off Pegasus and he eventually died after wandering around. Pegasus flew back to his home, but soon someone new found him and sold him to a fair. They found the Chimera in a cave. It came out hissing and spitting fire, and there was a dreadful battle. But a horse with wings could easily get out of the monster's way and fly upon him before he could turn around. First Bellerophon cut off the goat's head. The lion's head and claws fought the more savagely, but the good sword cut away that head too, and then the horse with wings stamped on the dragon's body until it lay quite still.
