This particular question is in itself a very controversial topic, and a very interesting topic to discuss as well. First and foremost, to make a few ground lines before starting to express any opinions, it should be noted that the death penalty is not to be handed out like candy on Halloween, rather take a long time and thorough investigation and under a lot of prevailing evidence. Having said this, I will be presenting reasons as to why the death penalty is a good thing and even in a few countries, might be an essential thing to help combat a lot of their crime numbers.

Death penalty is ultimately taking the criminals life for the crimes he/she has committed. This is a good punishment because it will send a message to society and help authorities at the same time, leading to a safer world for the rest of us law abiding citizens. If we take a real-life example, Ted Bundy was executed for his crimes of kidnapped, raped, and murdered numerous young women and girls. Though believed to be higher, his kill count that he confessed to is 30 homicides. When he was executed, it sent a message to the world, commit immoral crimes, and you will be put to death after a long hard trial. Which meant less people willing to take that risk leading to the society feeling safer, especially women in this case to exercise their human right to live. When the right to live is taken away from someone who took it away from others, it matches up to the saying that the punishment fits the crime, and will restore the ability for countless other people who are afraid to exercise their right to live again. So, in a nutshell, by taking away one, you restore countless others. 

As to anything in the world, there are arguments made against the death penalty. Some of which are that even the criminals are humans and they have a right to live. As I mentioned earlier, once they take someone else’s right to live away, they automatically give up their right to live, especially if they have committed the same or similar crime multiple times. Another counter argument is that the death penalty could be misused. This is the strongest argument against the death penalty. Its where politics get the better of the blind justice system. However, this argument is being made for the death penalty under a fair justice system with extensive investigations and a long trail period Infront of a jury. And unless paid off with a large amount, the judge will consider all evidence and the decision of the the jury. And in the case of the judge falsely accusing someone and giving them the death penalty, three is one waiting for them as well. 

So, when considering everything stated here, when considering if the death penalty is a good thing or not, provided its with a fair and extensive trail Infront of mountains of evidence, when another person’s right to live is affected, yes, by all means execute the criminal.
