I believe that whoever you are you need to own it. To me the world is not black and white but rather shades of grey. Take things with a grain of salt and read between the lines. Look deeper into people's actions and words because often what they say is not what they actually mean. I believe that everyone is capable of making a real difference in the world, and that you're put on this earth to do whatever your heart desires. And at the end of the day, everything happens for a reason.

I am an avid reader, so picking a favorite isn't always easy. However, in fifth grade I read a book that was so good it made me cry: Where the Red Fern Grows. It is more than just a book about hunting dogs. It's about the strength of friendship. To me, friends should be held to the absolute highest of standards. Not just for maintaining friendships but for finding them as well. And the bond you create with your friends should be indelible. Now I'm not saying that if my best friend died I should starve myself to death, but I do think friendships should have a deep, lasting impact on your life and your character.

This song really resonates with me. I think my generation really wants to change America and on certain topics we are especially passionate. For instance, gun violence is really bringing people my age together. Quite literally some people have had to fight for their lives and died due to gun violence. The unfortunate truth is that envisioning what would happen if you and your school was in a shooting is now a societal norm. I want to be a part of the revolution but there are huge risks to that. This song is a good representation of this.

(the book and the movie but I already have a book) I think movie adaptions are either make or break but this movie really nailed the core values of the book. I think that the description of family goes beyond just your biological family. For the main character, Lily Owens, this is especially true. She is a white girl from Georgia and yet she feels her true family is the Boatwright sisters from South Carolina. While I might not have had an abusive, lonely, and confusing childhood I do think that the lines between family and friends can (and sometimes should) be blurred. Sometimes in order to find yourself you need to surround yourself from people who aren't related to you.
