The protagonists in Dystopian stories often are made very aware of the problems and they commonly question political and social systems. The protagonists are also made to feel trapped and 
    struggling to escape from the world that they live in. These stories are most likely written based on the opinions of the author that wrote them. This shows that some authors see the world similarly to how it is in their stories.

    North Korea
    - North Korea has one of the most extreme censorship laws in the world. North Korea has strict control over media, radio and TV. They all are state-owned. They also limit access to the media to the citizens, you need permission from the government if you want to use it. It’s limited to academics, and individuals who were given permission. Having access to books, movies etc is illegal if it's foreign.

    - Germany in general does not have very heavy censorship laws

These types of novels or films do not appeal to a specific gender and are mostly broad so it reaches a wider audience. The reason as to why this does not appeal to a specific gender is because fear is universal. The popularity comes from the readers comes from the relatability of fear and how everyone experiences it at some point in their life. It also stimulates the audience’s imagination as they would most likely imagine how they would fare in this world.

    (2) Dystopian novels often expand and dramatize the real word problems causing people to think of their lives if it were like these. Dystopias are able to push push problems far enough. Readers can connect the text that they begin to understand the issues.
