The main focus of the first one was to develop heavy industry and arrangement of agriculture. Consequently, consumer goods' cost suffered a drastic fall. The second plan aimed to continue developing the first one's goals, yet this regimentation led to extreme famine which caused millions of deaths, particularly in Ukraine. While the third one's principal focus was the production of weapons, the fourth one went back to heavy industry and military development, which angered the Western powers.

He took this measurements because, when he was rising to power, some members of the Bolshevik party, which were led by Lenin, started to question his authority. Even though it only lasted from 1936 to 1938, it is estimated that at least 750,000 people were executed. This  movement inflicted great terror across the Soviet Union and had a long-lasting effect on society. Stalin eventually "succeeded" and eliminated all of the original Bolshevicks who participated in the Russian Revolution of 1917.

State authorities, government officials,  were mainly in charge of operational control. By 1935, a portion of the land in which the collective farm was established was divided with the purpose of allowing each household garden plots.The number of households in the kolhoz began to increase, and by 1958, the government distriuted heavy equipment to the farms.

The prisons encarcerated about 18 million people throughout its lifespan, and it's network held from 2,000 to 10,000 people in over hundreds of labor camps. However, Stalin was responsible for this massive increase in prison population, since he saw  the camps as an efficient manner to boost industrialization in the Soviet Union. In fact, it later became a destination for his victims of the Great Purge. The living conditions were inhumane, were prisoners were forced to work up to 14 hours a day under extreme weather ocasionally. Deaths by starvation, disease or exhaustion were very common, and many others were because of execution. The Gulag system was so fierce and harsh that it still impregnates Russian society today,

Stalin was paranoid and needed a way to maintain his power, so he implemented the Kolkhaz, the Gulag and used the NKVD as his own private force for eliminating people he thought disolyal. The NKVD's main purpose was to enforce national security, yet they took it way too far and arrested people for the most insignificant things, inspiring fear and encouraged people ratting out their neighbours, friends, etc.
