         <description><![CDATA[<div>Treat as you would anyone else.<br>Letting them lead - ask if they would talk a bit about it.<br>Not assuming that that is the problem. <br>Psychoeducation/ self and others<br>Ask what they would like to be called etc. <br>Find out more information, keep up to date. <br>Have knowledge of support groups. <br>Be supportive of situation.<br>Important to acknowledge areas we do not know, do not pretend - most young people are open. ASK. Be genuine about this. Do not assume that we know. Ask questions be honest. <br>Be mindful - we do not want to cause damage. <br>Being curious - we do not know everything. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Adaption 3 (step 3 &amp;<br>Getting further training for awareness. Royal College of Nursing has resources/toolkit to support health professionals in working with LGBTQ+ clients.  RCN provide a reflective checklist that ensures the practitioner are providing a safe and non-judgmental and supportive environment. Allowing the young person to share personal information. This can be used for services e.g, using gender inclusive language on intake, history forms and questionnaires. <br><br></div><div>Not assuming that a person who is LGBTQ+ status is the reason they are accessing your service/causing their mental health issue. <br> Being aware of your competence level and that we are not specialists and are working with early intervention. Being able to signpost to other services/higher intensity. </div>]]></description>
