Dusty is a 12 year old, grey, long-haired, rag doll cat. If my cat was a talking, walking human being, him and I would be best friends. He's someone I will cherish forever because he has given me endless laughs, smiles, comfort, and memories. He's anxious, like me, and loves everyone, also like me, so we relate to each other. He follows me everywhere I go, (yes, even the restroom), and freaks out when I leave him. Dusty is a walking, therapy machine, and I love him for that. What I can take from him is his
friendly-ness, understanding nature, and to find entertainment in anything, like a rubber band on carpet.

Brianna, Sam, and Emily

I met Brianna Riggin and Sam Watson in 7th grade at Hale Middle School, my first year in Stow. I had recently moved from Connecticut, a town where I had many friends. But on the first day of school, I had none. I remember Sam walking up to me, her blue dress with white poka dots. She had long, brown hair and gorgeous eyes.
"Hi, I'm Sam Watson", I remember her saying, "Are you new?"
"Yes"
"Oh cool! Would you like to hang out with my friends and I at recess and at lunch?"
"Sure," I responded, and from then on our friendship blossomed.
I met Brianna because of Sam, they sat together at lunch. Brianna is blonde, has a good sense of style, and always had a well packed lunch with an inspirational message from her mother every day. Her and I became close because of Sam, and I'm so happy we did.
Meeting Emily was different. We connected in a strange way, we both were friends with a girl who was mean to us, so we bonded over disliking her (it's mean, I know, I'm sorry). Now, the four of us have the nickname "The Core Four", which suits us because we are all so close.

I am thankful for Sam, who has been my rock for 4 years straight. I carry her message of don't take anything too seriously and to explore different activities, even if it makes you nervous. She puts me out of my comfort zone to make me try new things, and I love her for that.

Brianna showed me to become more understanding and to have more self care. Brianna and I connect because we struggle with the same issues, we help each other out when we are down. She showed me that even though caring for others is generous, I should reflect on how I'm feeling sometimes and to care for myself.

Emily taught me to never judge a book by its cover and to also to try and meet new people. I judged Emily before I was friends with her, she seemed way too shy compared to my other friends. Yet, when we started talking, we had a lot more in common than I thought! She's very sweet and caring, I'm very happy I met here. She showed me that I should talk to anyone, even if I think we won't work as friends. I am very picky with people, I don't open up to everyone. Luckily, now I try to open up more to others.

Kristin O'Brien is a woman who could carry a conversation on for hours. She can make you laugh on a day you're upset, be goofy in public, and make a mean salsa dip. She's a doctor, teacher, cook, builder, and problem solver all in one; aka a mother, something I want to be because of her. The way her and my father raised me is perfect, it shaped me to become an excellent student, loving friend, and a comedian. Kristin and I share a lot of trails and interests, which we bond over. One example being vintage fairs or small shops, we drive up to New Hampshire or Vermont just to explore sometimes.

What I carry from her is the urge to have kids of my own, she's an amazing mom and I don't know what I would do without her. I can't wait to have kids so she can be as loving to them as she is to me.

Video Games

Grand Thief Auto 5, Halo, Call of Duty, League of Legends, Lego Star Wars, Smite, Portal, Saints Row, Assassins Creed, and Destiny, you name it and I probably play it. I have been playing video games forever. It first started with my Game boy, a toy I got for Christmas when I was in probably first or second grade. I remember sitting in the living room playing Mario on it for hours. This obsession slowly evolved to bigger and newer toys, the Play Station 3, DSi, and then the Xbox 360. I got my Xbox in 5th grade, something that changed my life forever. I played constantly, probably more than the amount of time I spent doing homework. It helped me stay connected to my friends from school, one being Jesse, who I'm still friends with today because of Xbox. I continued to play all through middle school, meeting online friends who I'm also still friends with since I was 13 or so. I have made so many amazing friends from online gaming, and I cherish them all like I would my friends I know in real life. They have helped me through family drama, drama with friends, or other issues. I miss the nights I would stay up until 4 AM, doesn't happen as often because of school/people are getting older, but that's okay. While video games had a positive effect on me, it had it's downsides. I wouldn't go outside, I got severe dry eye from it because I won't blink, I relied on online friends sometimes more than my real friends, and it made me isolated and more shy than I was before. I still even now struggle to go out and do things because I'm glued to the screen, but I feel as if it had a more positive output on me because it's a way to relieve stress and boost creativity.

What I'll carry with my from video games is that there will always be someone there for you and have similar passions as you, so you're never truly alone. Another thing is that my life shouldn't solely be online, I need to go out and do stuff with my real life friends and not be stuck to people I've never even met. I'm happy I found video games though, I couldn't see my life without me playing them.

My Past Teachers

I love school. Yes, I truly do. I miss the summer while in school, but by the end I'm thinking, "Okay, I'm ready to go now,". Learning is one of my passions, I love to explore topics that I'm heavily interested in. Some of my teachers have left a mark on me that will most likely never go away, I'm so happy they became teachers because they truly taught me how to live life to the fullest.

I usually have a teacher every year that inspires me to be a better person. Freshman year was Mrs. Lowe. I remember sitting in her English 9 class and being in tears over vocabulary, (if you didn't know, I am terrible at spelling, so bad that I was in a special program in elementary school, and obviously it didn't work). I had a C average and didn't seem to care. I have an obvious passion for English, so knowing vocabulary was the only thing holding me back was very frustrating. One vivid memory I have from her class was the final, a project which I don't remember the topic of. Either way, I had to stand in front of 23-ish students with their eyes glued to me. I hate being watched, I could feel my face burning as I began to talk. I started to chock my words, and in the corner of my eye I could see my boyfriend mouthing supportive phrases, "You got this," I remember.
