The fact that it is encouraged for students to known each other, it is also important for the teachers to know the students as well. When the teacher knows each student, (knowing their background, their knowledge in the subject, and how they see themselves) it would help bridge the gap of misrecognition. It is important for art educators to listen to their students, and adjust the curriculum that is the most suitable for all the students.
Chris failed to recognize the students ability and failed to connect with them as a teacher. This not only effects the way the students think of art teachers, but also it would effect on how they think of art. The students might get discouraged by the unattentive teacher.

Chris fails to recognize the differences of socio-economic realities of the Art 1 and AP students at first. Although he did come to understand and become more aware of his faults, he did not put enough effort to enact equity into the issue. There are several ways for teachers to bridge this gap between students and educators. One example could be firstly, educating yourself of the different socio-economic background of your students and discussing it with them either individually or in small groups. It is also crucial that the teacher is open and inclusive as differences in backgrounds and beliefs do exist.

It is important for teachers to put down their own bias. Teachers need to understand their own bias and work with equity. In this way, it is only when the teachers can fully connect with the students and teach them social concepts outside the class.

Equality means that the handling of matters is reasonable and does not favor one party or one person, that is, everyone involved in social cooperation bears the responsibilities that he/she should bear and gets the benefits that he/she deserves. It can feel unfair if a person takes on less responsibility than he/she should, or gains more than he/she deserves. It also refers to treating people and doing things reasonably in accordance with certain social standards (laws, morals, policies, etc.) and in a proper order.
