         <description><![CDATA[<div>The little Black 9 were 9 black students enrolled in an all white high school in little rock. The first day of school at Central High, they blocked the students entry into the high school. In the picture you can see that official officers kicking them out of school. The police got involved since the supreme court ruling declared segregation. White people and African Americans had to go to different schools. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Freedom Riders were groups of white and black civil rights activists who participated in Freedom Rides to protest segregated bus terminals. They drew international attention to the civil rights movements. In the picture you can see the bombing of the bus. Before the fire bombing the bus was encompassed by a mob who intensely thrashed the riders.   </div>]]></description>

MLK called for civil and economic rights and an end to racism in the USA. He was arrested for leading protests.          <description><![CDATA[<div>JFK was the 35th president of the United States. He was assonated in Dallas, Texas. In the photo you can see JFK riding in a presidential motorcade through Dealey plaza. But just minutes after this photo, as their vehicle passed the Texas School Book depository building, Lee Harvey allegedly fired 3 shots form the sixth floor fatally wounding JFK. Before passing away JFK proposed legislation that would later become the civil rights act and expressed civil rights as a moral issue. </div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>Marches were organized by non-violent activists to demonstrate the desire of African-American citizens to exercise their constitutional rights to vote. In the picture you can see one of the three marches that took place along the su mile highway from Selma, Alabama, to the state capital of Montgomery. MLK joined the group and activists from the southern Christian Leadership conference also joined.</div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Vietnam war also known as the American war occurred because of a conflict of communist and anti-communist in Vietnam between north Vietnam and south Vietnam. The US was an Ally of south Vietnam. You can see in the picture men and women were sent to fight in the war. Over 3 million people died. In the end North Vietnam won.</div>]]></description>

         <title>Black Panther Party: October 15, 1966</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Black Panther Party's original purpose was to patrol African American neighborhoods to protect residents from act of police brutality. In the picture you can see the men holding guns, they had organized armed citizens patrols in US cities. You can also see the sign behind them which says "BLACK PANTHER PARTY FOR SELF DEFENSE" this really shows how they were not trying to harm anyone unless they were in danger. The methods were incredibly violent. </div>]]></description>

         <title>Watergate: June 17, 1972</title>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>The Watergate Scandal began when Nixon was in office. Several burglars were arrested in the office of democratic national committee and Nixon denied any involvement in this. He wins the reelection but has paid the burglars hush money. This forces Nixon to resign as president, as shown in the photo, he phrased it as "time of healing", but they already knew the real reason. It is still unclear why the break in happened. </div>]]></description>
