Hello, good afternoon! For the second video on Dyslexia that doesn't work (Guinevere Eden on Dyslexia and the Brain), thank you for the YouTube link (works fine!). However, I'm wondering is there any way to still attempt the quiz embedded in the video file?

Hello Dr Elizabeth, the final video under APD in Task 2: Empathise with their challenges seems to be a re-upload of the summary video, as opposed to the simulation of what it is like for someone with APD.

Dyslexia challenges - Praveen

Hi Dr Elizabeth, in the lecture video on challenges of dyslexia, there are two challenges that were covered; multi-step instructions and sequencing difficulties. If my student is unable to follow the bulleted points given to assist him in writing, which one of the above two is most likely to be the main cause? Multi-step could target the bulleted points while sequencing could be a more generic issue, or a combination of both.

Reply: Thank you for your question. Usually we try not to have cognitive overload for them so to cut down on the instructions or simplify it and better organise it (& best to show it visually as well). Research has shown that a combination of both would be more effective. Bottomline is we do need to check in with the students as actually many a time, the answer lies with them on what works best for them, as each student learns differently. Hope this clarifies. There is a Day 1 online lectures and tasks which MUST be completed before meeting up for your Zoom tutorial with your respective tutors. Assignment 1 is due on this day by 11:59pm.

[Please note that Tutors will be helping to track your access for the lectures. Access which includes viewing 100% of the lectures and completing the tasks will be COMPULSORY. ]

Reply: Apologies for the errata. There is no online Zoom tutoiral today. All tutorials for this run will be face-to-face and will be on Day 2 and Day 3.
