Na forma negativa e interrogativa usa-se o auxiliar "to do" no passado.
I didn`t work yesterday. ;Did you work yesterday?

The present tense is the base form of the verb:

            I work in London

But with the third person singular, we add an –s: 

       e.g she works in London

verbs ending in ss,sh,ch,x or o, we add an -es
       e.g   she watches home alone every christmas

verbs ending with an consoant and a y , we take the -y and add -ies
           e.g  she never studies !

verbs ending with an vowel and a y , we only add an -y
          e.g   he often buys cookies
