The 'Adidas' logo hasn't really changed that much over time but when it has it has changed drastically in brand sense. When 'Adidas' first started it had a very simple logo, 3 bold black lines and the name in lower case bold. Due to the bold 3 lines 'Adidas' became known as 'the brand with the 3 stripes'. They changed the logo to 3 leaves which was a huge change for the brand, they changes again to 3 slanted stripes but the old leaf one stayed more on shoes and old clothing, whereas the new logo is on all new clothing.

I've searched around the internet and I've seen some very useful apps that help freelancers.
1. Hours 2.0
This is a time tracker that helps you complete tasks in the time you've set for them. This helps you get more done and pushed you to fully complete your tasks/work.
2. And Co.
This is an app that lets you automate your business. It allows you to process invoices, track expenses, make payments, and work with an experienced “chief operator” to help you manage your projects. Some of the most useful elements revolve around tax preparation; you can connect your business bank account to automatically track, reconcile, and categorize all of your expenses.
3. ZipBooks
ZipBooks is making accounting super easy for freelancers. It aims to simplify the bookkeeping process, and help you get cash in the bank when you need it. Zipbooks can also do things like: create invoices and estimates, categorize expenses, track time, add recurring auto-billing, and send automated late payment reminders.

These are only 3 of the great apps I've found, I have linked below the website I found them on.
https://blog.producthunt.com/11-must-have-resources-tools-for-freelancers-d4cb381c08c3

What ways could you start up and run your freelance business?

You need to think about a lot when you start your own business, yes you're your own boss but that also means you need to take care of everything. Here are a list of things you need to take into consideration when starting out:
1. Accounting
What you want is a freelance accountant, who will be on your call 24/7. As an entrepreneur, you are a jack of all trades especially accounting. Keep your hand on the pulse of the business. Ask questions. Don’t be afraid to look stupid in front of your accountant. That’s the one place you are allowed to be. A freelance accountant will give you one-on-one time. You’ll have him or her under control. You’ll learn more. Go for local freelancers as opposed to hiring somebody you can’t meet.
2. Marketing
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and Search Engine Marketing (SEM) are great tools, in the hands of the right expert. If you are a startup, go with a ‘lone wolf’, don’t hire the pack. Go for just one freelancer. If there’s any place you want to spend a little more, this is it. Do all the social media management on your own or if the volume of work is too big, through a virtual assistant. You just set the tasks, and then hire a decent, English-speaking VA.
3. Design
If you are developing a website to help your business or your entire company relies on an e-commerce website, you should, by all means, use a professional freelance designer. From logo creation to website design, to banners and flyers, your company’s image really makes a difference. This is the second best place to invest your money in, after SEO and SEM (traffic is the most important thing by far).
4. Coding
Now, for coding your site, that’s a totally different story. Great coders are usually very reluctant to interact with people. That’s why you want a freelance firm. More and more companies are enlisting their services on freelance websites. But if you can, work with a local company for the coding part. It will be easier to push them in the direction you’re wanting. Another crucial reason you want a company, and not a freelance coder is the fact that you need an interface between you and the programmer. You need someone to put some pressure on the coder every now and then. A firm is just safer. They’re also less likely to steal your startup idea and more likely to get the job done fast.
5. Analystics
Don’t hire anyone for this. You need to know what CPM, CPC, funnels, bounce-rates and other important names that you will definitely need to know. There are lots of great tutorials online to help you with this.
6. Blogging
It can be very hard to keep up with a blog and make sure it's up to a great standard all the time but you can always hire a Blogger to do it for you.
7. Customer Care
This is something you'd definitely want to do by yourself. And even if you don’t, it’s worth paying more to get a local person. Customer care (CC) is basically the interface between you and the customer. As such, CC creates the user’s experience. And medium to long term user experience is the most important factor in determining the success or failure of your company. You want a local employee, whom you can supervise. A lot. Clients will create problems in places you thought didn’t even exist. Quite a bit of your input will be needed. The key to massively successful companies such as McDonald’s is the experience the user has when interacting with the company.

For Interior Design there's only a few media platforms that you could actually display a variety of your work but there are many where you could advertise your work. Instagram would be a fantastic way to show off your work to millions of people, because once you've refurbished a place (either retail, bar, domestic etc.) the only other way they could see it is pictures. Instagram would be very helpful because all you can post is images, you can also write a little caption underneath. Also you can have a little bio on your page so if someone wanted to get in contact with you your info is there (you also decide what information people see), they can also privately message you. Also there are other people who are Interior Designers who you can share your work with and get back feedback etc. Another platform you could use is Facebook but the only issue with that is it would be better to use it for an advertisement source rather than a viewing place, you can always put images on of course but Instagram would be better for that and Facebook would be better for advertisement. Pinterest is also a good visual display for your work

For this logo for the CBBC I remember that they made it character rather than just a logo, he would jump around and throw slime at different characters (cartoons) and jump throw shows. This made it really memorable and fun because other logos never did anything like this. This logo was mainly aimed at children ages 8-15 years of ages but it also was the content what shown.

For this Nickelodeon logo I remember rather than just having it appear onscreen, it would splat on 3 times and run slightly. This was really informal and fun and it would represent the slime that Nickelodeon was famous for (at their awards show they would slime audience members and celebrities and they used it in game shows). Also the font is really memorable because it looks like its been writing in a whiteboard pen which again is really informal. The colour of the logo again is really important because it was the colour of Nickelodeon and it made you remember it.

Channel 5 aired on TV in 1997, the channel has always been seen to have less distinctive programming than their other terrestrial rivals at the BBC, ITV and Channel 4. Channel 5 airs a wide variety of programming that covers various genres and themes, the channel is notable for imported programming and is also notable for securing the rights to Home and Away , which helped boost early evening viewing figures for the channel. It has screened several of the highest-rating American dramas, including all four CSI series, all three NCIS series, and the first three Law & Order series, The Mentalist, Grey's Anatomy House and Prison Break. The logo for Channel 5 is very simple and formal which gives it a more serious feel to it which would appeal more to adults than children.

Milkshake was added to the morning line up on channel 5 in 1997, it a preschool program aimed at children aged 2-7. It features a variety of shows and presenters and hosts different competitions. The Milkshake logo is really informal and fun, the total opposite to the C5 logo. It's bright and colourful which appeals to children, also the sun in the background shows that it's a morning show and again the sun would appeal to kids.

I really like this business card because it's fun it's creative, it represents the company it's for well (either a recording studio or record company). If laid out right this could be a really strong card and really catch peoples attention, if not this could fall quite easily. I also like how you could use different album covers for it so it's changeable.

I think again it really gets it's point across on what the business it and to me from it they seem very professional. I also love the way it's set out, all of the relevant information is included and easily readable. Also the asotate in the middle really makes the card special because it almost makes it a camera.

I really like this card because of how simple but yet eye catching it is. I love the colour contrasts on it as that helps it stand out more, I'd maybe change the font as the thin lines on the name make it a little bit harder to read. I love the way the back is set out, all the relevant information is there, it's readable, it's not the clustered but not to boring also.

My Business Card

This is my finished business card for my goal as an Interior Designer. I made it from scratch in Illustrator, for the logo I used the one I made a few months ago and just translated it onto Illustrator. I'm very happy with the outcome of my card because I think it's very formal and professional, I think it really shows and represents me as a person in business. I wanted really basic plain colour's, I know that this would put a lot of people off and I know they wouldn't personally chose these colour's but I saw from my research that a lot of Interior Designers had very plain straight forward styles. I personally like styles like this because it's easy to read and understand but it's still eye catching. I really enjoyed making my card because I thought it was going to be difficult and time consuming but it was actually really fun and I learnt to control and work in Illustrator more.

Health and Safety questions

-What H&S guidelines/regulations would you have to follow being a freelancer?
The existing Health and Safety at Work Act imposes a general duty on all self-employed people to protect themselves and others from risk to their health and safety, regardless of the type of activity the self-employed person undertakes and the risks that this creates.
- How would you layout your work space? What other considerations would you have to make?
You would need to follow basic H&S rules and keep equipment in a safe and organised way. I would personally lay out my work space so I could easily access everything when I need it but also so it is out of the way and stored safely. I would definitely use shelves to keep my equipment on, this keeps equipment out of the way for me and anyone who would come into my work space. Also from that I would keep all equipment in a certain way, keep papers, books and files on the same shelf (if they fit), any tools that I would need/use I would keep on the shelf also so it's stored safely away so no one could get hurt if they were left around and not out away. Another important one is wires around the work space, wires for lamps or any desktop equipment I would keep stored behind the desk/work top so they're not blocking my work space so there's no danger of me catching them, for computer wires or laptop wires I would either tape them safely down on the floor with a brightly coloured LX tape, so people can spot it and be aware that there is a small hazard there or I would coil them and keep them either stuck onto the desk or kept under the desk.
- What are some basic H&S you would have to consider?
Basic H&S I would consider for my work space are tripping hazards, sharp tools, lots of unorganized papers scattered around which could be a fire hazard. These don't seem like major hazards but you do have to consider the simple basic ones that you wouldn't really blink an eye at.
- Do you need any specialist equipment within your freelancing field?
For Interior Design you really don't need and special equipment depending on the project your are working on. In every project though you need a pencil and sketch book as everything starts off with a sketch. Also you mainly need some computer software which isn't really a H&S risk. Although if you need to make your own model of your design (which is rare out of Uni) you would need a whole different set of tools.
- What is Personal Liability?
Person Liability is insurance about financial protection for you and your family. The personal liability coverage within your homeowners policy provides coverage for bodily injury and property damage sustained by others for which you or covered residents of your household are legally responsible.

https://www.travelers.com/home-insurance/coverage/personal-liability
- What is a Risk Assessment?
A risk assessment is a systematic process of evaluating the potential risks that may be involved in a projected activity or undertaking. Basically a sheet that you write down the potential risks in the work place and make steps on how you can avoid them and/or writing how you handle them if they do happen.
- What does COSHH stand for? Why should you be aware of the guidelines?
COSHH is the law that requires employers to control substances that are hazardous to health. You can prevent or reduce workers exposure to hazardous substances by: finding out what the health hazards are, deciding how to prevent harm to health (risk assessment), providing control measures to reduce harm to health; making sure they are used ; keeping all control measures in good working order; providing information, instruction and training for employees and others; providing monitoring and health surveillance in appropriate cases; planning for emergencies. Basically, it is the law that requires employers to control these substances. Under the Control of Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations (COSHH, 2002) employers are required to either prevent, reduce or at the very least, control exposure to hazardous substances in order to prevent ill health to their workers. http://www.hse.gov.uk/coshh/basics.htm

What's on in the local area could help me get and think of idea's if I'm struggling designing something, I can take inspiration from different exhibitions and artists. Also a few workshops could help me with my sketching skills as as an Interior Designer I still need to do basic sketches to start off designs. Personally I wouldn't become a freelance Interior Designer to begin with as it would be very difficult and very challenging to compete with larger companies who have been around for much longer and are known more. I I were to take the freelancing route I would definitely use GOV.uk and Startups as they have all the information I need and tips to help me get started. I wouldn't really need a studio most of the time but I would definitely need an office space and I know from research a lot of the galleries and buildings offer office spaces and rooms for hire. I would definitely keep trying to develop my skills when I get into a career because even though it doesn't have a lot to do with my career route, it always helps to stay up to date with new techniques and to keep a hobby up.
