Few years ago, when I was working with(for) lenta I launched a project for renewing digital portable scanning devices in stores to modern devices. We got technical requirements from internal customers and discussed key points (went over the details) for new equipment. We ran a procurement procedure and received different proposals from suppliers. After considering the proposals and discussing with internal customers, we realized that only one device meets the tech req. It was very strange our procurement department, because the price of proposal was too high. We decided to clarify the requirements and to dismiss the monopoly. Of course, we had to be prepared to claims from internal customers because we had understood they want to get only that expensive devise. But there were other opportunities. During a month and having passed a lot of negotiations with competitors and extra suppliers, we realized that there were a few other options in the market with the same tech req but half priced. Those devices were made in China but had quite a good exp in Russia. We have pointed out this case for our internal customers and during another set of neg reached an agreement with them to include new options and new devices to dismiss the monopoly from req. After that we started a new procedure(s) and reached a() good results with benefits for the company.

After we started a new procedure, we reached good results and got many benefits for the company.
