I feel I have grown into a better artist by learning and applying new techniques.
One of the strategies that I have learned is about how to make beautiful shading with colored pencils, in almost all my drawings I have experimented and worked with color pencil one way or another. Two other tools I have applied/incorporated into my art pieces are oil pastel and charcoal, I have used these 2 utensils for shading purposes, creating shadows, and producing high contrast.  
     What I have learned from my experience in this class is don't be afraid to make mistakes because we learn from our mistakes. I also learned that mistakes are not bad, I have actually ended up incorporating most of my mistakes into my artwork. I also learned a lot about texture, what I learned is if you are not getting the texture you want, then try another material it might add a better texture to your piece. Also, don't be afraid to use different materials than what you are used to because new material create different textures that can make your pieces look nice.
  Along with the theme of trying new things, I would really like to branch out and try paint or watercolor because this semester I tried to stick with colored pencil, oil pastel, esc...I would also like to make different sized pieces, I found this semester I tended to make small pieces and not larger pieces, it took me till the last project to branch out in the field of size.  In the last project I used a face as my subject and that was very challenging for me so I would like to continue to challenge myself and draw more faces and figures (including animals). I would also like to do more nature pieces because I love drawing natures beauty and incorporating it into something great.
