I like the part where pupils were asked if they were able to think/know the vocabulary in English but not in CL. I think this can be adopted when assessing pupil readiness for all MT languages.

Focus on Content via collaborative work on SLS. Group work without physically seated together. Awesome!

Love the differentiation by product in mas's sharing as it will help build students' confidence - making use of their strengths. Engaging meaningful activity while checking for their understanding. :) Love the additional assignments for quick finishers.

I like the choice board as it allows the pupils to have a choice of what 2 tasks they want to attempt out of 4 . The use of the stickers on the different tasks gives a good indication to the teacher on what the pupils like and are comfortable doing.

Before this, I wasn’t able to really visualise how DI can be carried out using ict but the group has clearly shown us examples on how it can actually be done in different ways through different activities.
Question:
In joey’s lesson, faster learners can complete an additional activity while waiting for their peers. So those who are slower, if they don’t complete those parts, will the assignment be reflected as incomplete?

The SLS lessons designed were so thorough and systematic via the use of tiers. Good job! Alot of effort and thought have been put in to ensure that the learning needs of every pupil were met. Questions were used to deepen learning. It’s amazing how the CL teachers had a specific description for every learning profile. Would definitely adopt some of the approaches used for my DI classroom.

I like the way your group engaged the three groups of students via SLS platform. Do you need to test students’ prior knowledge each time before embarking on a new set of picture composition? Students' different life experiences might affect the accuracy of the readiness test. Eg. One might be more familiar with the vocabulary/ helping words/ phrases on taking public transport than another student who is chauffeured to and fro daily. So, one student might be grouped under MA/ HA for that picture composition but LA for the next composition.

I like the part on using a comic strip in the form of videos to engage the pupils... I am sure they will be very captivated by it.

Liked the wordwall wheel and it was nice to see the students getting all excited with the various activities. I think when they are given the autonomy to choose, they tend to be more interested and learn better. I would like to try out these activities soon in my class.

Using pre-assessment survey to find out pupils' preferred art materials to use for print making was very helpful in planning the art lessons. It's great that this lesson has enabled pupils to overcome their resistance towards art making.

Listening to their sharing brought back sweet old memories of printmaking art lessons during my kindergarten and primary school days! I am quite surprised at the survey findings in which pupils mentioned that they do not like getting dirty. Isn't Art all about getting dirty! Nonetheless, it was so therapeutic to see our pupils engaged in trying out the printmaking and frottage activities. Good job ladies!

Interesting sharing to let us see how DI can be incorporated in PE. I enjoyed the last part where we also get to do some physical activity. I tried level 3 first, realised it's quite tough and then proceeded to level 2 where I find it's manageable. Thanks for the presentation. - Mei Woon

I find the P5 composition writing DI activities in SLS very engaging for the students. The students are able to learn according to their own ability and they pick up skills, words and phases that they can use in their writing. This will boost up their level of confidence in composition writing as many students tend not to have much confidence in it. It also makes writing fun.- Mei Woon

I like the use of choice board. Glad to know the LP pupils were willing to take the more challenging tasks. It showed their willingness to try. :)

As a follow up lesson, may consider menu for 2-part word problem. Appetiser - first part (easy question for everyone) Main course (choice of tasks) for second part. Thank you.

Hi, Denise. Thank you for your question! The filler activities done by the faster pupils are SLS interactive Maths multiplication games which SLS does not register the completion so when the slower pupils did not do those filler activities and did only the core activity which SLS will register completion, the status of the assignment would still become "completed".
