To begin with I'd like to say that our time is characterized by fast and rapid development of technologies. New models of mobile phones are appearing with increasing frequency and people are ready to pay hundreds or even thousands of dollars for them almost every year. But what for do they pay?
Unquestionably the mobile phone is the main way of communication. It helps us to be in touch withour friends and relatives who live far away from us or to quickly contact with a person we need. Young people use their mobile phones for more than four hours a day and are upset if they miss a call or a message.
Besides, the mobile phone can be helpful in studies or at work. Students can open a browser in their cell phones and get some information they need at lessons or find clarification of an unclear topic.
And of course the mobile phone is a favourite entertainment of children. With the help of mobile phones they can download and play games, watch videos or listen to music.
Undeniably the mobile phone is a very useful device but every medal has its reverse.
The mobile phone is not good for our organism. Our eyesight gets worse because of a little font and the use of the mobile phone in the darkness. It also emits the radio waves that hurt nerve cells of the brain and violates its currents.
Furthermore, the mobile phone can be a sort of addiction. Mobile addicts can be seriously affected psychologically but don't show any physical symptoms. They forget about important activities, drift apart from their friends and close family and think only about the mobile phone. In fact, addiction to mobile phones is a part of great group - that of addiction to new technologies.
To sum up, I'd like to say that I am abosolutely convinced that mobile phones are wolves in sheep's clothing. In my opinion people should be vigilant and not lose self-control not to become victims of these wolves.

There is such a popular saying that mobile phones are wolves in sheep`s clothing. It’s difficult to believe these words since the mobile phone has become the most important way of communication nowadays.
I guess the point is that mobile phones have become so helpful, they look so smart, and they are an inseparable part of our modern outfit and image. One can’t expect any harm from them.
But in reality mobile phones are not so harmless. They have done a lot of physical and psychological damage to modern people. Mobile phones kill face to face communication. Teenagers often avoid face to face contact with their peers. Some of them even feel that they are nobody if they don’t have a mobile phone.
What is more, 40% of young adults use their mobile phones about 4-5 hours per day to talk or send messages. This can’t but do certain harm to our health. Scientists say that children who use their mobile phones are at risk of suffering memory loss, sleeping disorders and other health problems. Children are more at risk than adults because their immune systems are not strong. Besides microwaves from a mobile phone affect the brain and can damage hearing. People who prefer to use the mobile phone at night don’t have the phase of sleeping which is called deep sleep. That can lead to the development of diabetes, cancer and obesity.
Studies have shown that people who read on their smartphones at night produce less melatonin (a hormone responsible for the regulation of sleep cycles). I believe you`ve heard such a piece of advice - be technology free 2 or 3 hours before going to bed. So pick up a book. That would be better because you will increase your level of intelligence. If to speak about other health problems I will definitely call eyesight problems, posture problems and others. By the way when people look at their mobile phones their spine angle is equivalent to the posture where a seven-year old child would sit on your neck which is very significant considering that people on average use their mobile phones about 5 hours a day.
Mobile-addicts forget about their activities and studies, they slowly drift apart from their family members and close friends. They begin to think about their mobile phones constantly when they don’t have them. As you can notice a huge number of teens use their mobile phones at school. The survey showed that on average, teens spend almost as much time on their mobile phones as they spend doing physical activity. As an example I want to tell you about one girl who had 14 phones! She spent sleepless nights chatting with phantom friends and finally dropped out of school.
Many people become so dependent on mobile phones that can’t feel safe without them. And if they miss a call or a message, it makes them feel «deeply upset and sad». A huge problem is the fear of being without your phone. Another name of it is No Mo Phobia (No Mobile Phone). There is also one survey which revealed that more than a half of teenagers would rather have their TV privileges cut down and Web access limited than their mobile phone taken away. Many teenagers have become dependent on phone games. As they play a game they achieve small goals causing their brain to be rewarded with a little dose of dopamine. But the game has a new content. That means another dose of dopamine. And together they create what is known as a compulsion loop. The same thing (small goals – dopamine – reward. Repeat. Small goals – dopamine – reward. Repeat.) happens to the people`s brain who use nicotine or cocaine.
I want to stress the fact that mobile-addicts can be seriously affected psychologically but, as they don’t show any physical symptoms, others don’t see what their problem is.
In conclusion I’d like to say that all people like vacations? So it’s a good idea to take a vacation from our mobile phones at least for some time and do a lot of other useful things for our body, brain and soul.
