The Harlem Renaissance

The Harlem Renaissance was a time period in which African American culture was celebrated and shared among everyone. During the Great Migration, many African Americans moved North Harlem. White people did not support this community so they moved out of Harlem. Lots of music and art was founded during this time. The Harlem Renaissance is more legendary than Pride Month because after all the African Americans have gone through in their time in American they finally have an opportunity to celebrate their culture. Pride Month is still good but the LGBTQ community didn´t have to come as far as the African Americans did to celebrate who they are. African Americans went from being hated slaves to celebrated artists and musicians.

The KKK

The KKK was a white supremacist hate group in the South. They used violence such as whipping and killing against freed African Americans. They wore white robes and tall hats as a symbol of their group, and to hide the identities of the people underneath. The KKK was more legendary than the events in Charlottesville because more people were impacted. According to the Huffington Post, a recent study says that around 3960 African Americans were killed. The events in Charlottesville killed 1 person and wounded 34.

The 1920s Economy

The 1920s economy was more legendary than the 2010s economy. New products such as cars, refrigerators, washing machines, dishwashers, vacuum cleaners, record players, and phones started being purchased more. Since more people wanted to buy these things, they needed to be made more. It was a time period right after World War I, so the money that was being used to support the war could now be used for others needs in our country. The 2010s economy increased employment rates, but people in the 1920s were making money off of speakeasies which is pretty legendary.
