Many people wanted the riches of the New World. <br>GLORY: Many explorers received plenty of fame for discovering the things they did. Vespucci discovered many lands on his voyage, he also leads expeditions for Portugal. <br><br></div>]]></description>

         <description><![CDATA[<div>1. America's role in the triangle trade was importing slaves and exporting the goods that the slaves produced. <br>2. When Vespucci landed, he tried to interact with the natives, the natives were hostile and some were cannibals.<br>3. If Vespucci wouldn't claimed that it was another continent another person would have eventually found it out and we would still be here today, but it may not have been claimed for another ten or fifteen years. The way this affected the world would have been technology would have been pushed back ten to fifteen years later.</div>]]></description>

It could also be used for forecasting the positions of the sun and the moon in relation to the earth and was invaluable to mariners in plotting a course, using the stars as direction finders.
