Before becoming Russia, it was part of USSR (Union of Soviet Socialist Republics). In 862 A.D., the first United East Slavic state was founded. It adopted Christianity from Byzantine Empire. But didn't lested much, the Mongols invaded and killed half of Russian population. After the 13th century, Moscow became an big cultural center at Moscovia, and, after the 18th century, the Tsardom of Russia had become the huge Russian Empire. Today, Russia is one of the most rich and influent countries in the world!

Russia's Typical food: fish, poultry, mushrooms, berries and honey.
Russia's most popular Holiday: New Year, they celebrate it similar to the way the western's people cebrate christimas, with New Year trees, gifts and Ded Moroz (father Frost) does the same thinghas Santa Claus.

Victory day is the second most popular Holiday, that celebrates Russia's victory over the Nazi German army in Worldwide War two.
Fun fact, russia was amomg the first countries to have radio and televison. And because of it's size, today russia is a leading nation in the number of tv broadcast.
