Animal cruelty can be traced back as far as the 12th century. With time, animal cruelty has surely shifted in many ways. As displayed in many commercials like ASPCA, WWF, or even Big Cat Rescue; they show a numerous number of animals (whether domesticated or wild) that have been abandoned, abused, hunted, and probably on the verge of extinction. With these organizations massively being promoted all over the globe you would think it’s hard to for people or companies to commit the acts of animal cruelty and exploitation of animals. Unfortunately to say, animal cruelty still exists and with thourough research and background knowledge I found that in most zoo’s and shelters across the world; don’t offer the proper hospitality and environment animals deserve. Today there are many things that are classified as animal abuse. Trainors or owners who have animals do

things involuntarily whether it’s to the animals harm or people; are known as cut-throat trainors. These types of owners usually don’t care for the health and living nature of the animal they possess, more than likely they will exploit the animal for money. Today there are many things that are classified as animal abuse. Trainors or owners who have animals do things involuntarily whether it’s to the animals harm or people; are known as cut-throat trainors. These types of owners usually don’t care for the health and living nature of the animal they possess, more than likely they will exploit the animal for money. Moreover anyone is capable of harming an animal, it's only if they choose to do it which makes it a senseless act of violence. According to Dosomething.org nearly 2,000 cases of animal hoarding are reported each year having 250,000 animals falling victim. Places like zoo’s, circuses, or neighborhoods with a bad environment or even farms; factory farms are where animals suffer from abuse. On factory farms, chickens, cows, pigs, etc are always put into cages for mass production of food. They are given hormones where some of them normally don’t make it, and are still slaughtered. Nearly half a million farm factory animals are killed each year.

On factory farms, chickens, cows, pigs, etc are always put into cages for mass production of food. They are given hormones where some of them normally don’t make it, and are still slaughtered. Nearly half a million farm factory animals are killed each year. That’s only with farm factory animals. In reference to social media and netflix mini series Tiger King which was top ten in the U.S around March 2020. It discloses a major obsession of big cats (lions, tigers, jaguars, etc) and shows the toxic environment these animals endure. This obsession has led to the exotic pet trade where wild animals are kept in human-like households besides their natural habitat. Holding wild animals in a household is cruel, and they deserve to be in their natural habitat. In addition to the cruel and unusual punishment of animals. Major companies have experimented and tested on animals to sell products like cologne, hair products, and makeup etc to humans. These events that take place are severely life threatening to any animal due to chemical inhalation and long term disabilities that could also be deadly. Nonetheless these animals such as domesticated animals are also used for their fur. In China according to Human society international.org, about 50.5 million dogs have been bred and killed for their fur since 2018. This is known as fur farming, as some of you may know, fur farming still happens globally. However it is banned in many countries in the parts of europe, and very few parts of asia. Fur farming is also cruel because of the tight knip spaces they have for such active animals that need an abundant amount of land to run wild.

Animal abuse happens everywhere in the world and though some might think that exploiting animals for money or entertainment isn’t cruel, it surely is. For decades circuses have put on shows for people all across the globe and many circuses include animals. In most cases you wouldn’t normally see animals do tricks and balance on beams naturally. Those things they are forced to do. According to peta.org circus trainors abuse the animals by whipping them, using tight collars and muzzles, etc. You may also see a very disturbing video of how the elephants get treated. Also with the conditions of the circus and how they travel year round in any weather, that can cause neglect of the animals due to their health. Besides the physicality nature of the animals, most animals receive so much abuse and mistreatment they become a danger to the public due to mental distraught. When it comes to the overall abuse of animals, it usually happens to control an animal and diminish a certain character. Other reasons are to instill violence or perhaps create fear, which makes some owners feel superior. Animal cruelty is real and although it has been brought to light its still happening across the globe and many cut-throat trainors are finding different ways of abusing these animals. There are numerous organizations that have helped and rescued thousands of animals like ASPCA. It is the first humane society organization to be established in North America, and is now one of the largest worldwide. Other organizations like WWF(World Wide fund for nature) are international, and are fighting for the reduction of the wildlife environment being impacted by humans. They also protect endangered species.

Another organization which is really small is GREY2K specifically for the life of greyhounds; a breed of dog. Greyhounds have been abused in the long term due to the cruel nature of dog racing. They are exploited for their speed and big height. There are hundreds of organizations that protect animals all across the globe, or specific animals. However the fight is not over to put an end to animal abuse. There are many ways as a human being we all can take part in preventing animal abuse, that is if you see an animal being abused or not being taken care of properly. Another way you can prevent animal abuse is by being a role model of showing kindness and love to animals, or you can even adopt from a shelter or an organization to have the animal be protected.

Lastly is to be a responsible pet owner. Just like humans, animals (mainly domesticated) have needs. Like being fed, hygiene, daily activities, something to keep us busy. Animals also have feelings, whether or not they’re wild they possess the nature of feeling. In light of all that has been stated, I hope that it teaches you more about the neglect and abuse of animals, and may influence you to sign petitions, and donate to these organizations to stop the abuse of animals.
