Year 6 have successfully completed their Maths Project with The Surrey Maths School and The University of Surrey. They held an assembly today to show their parents the products of their learning. The children have been amazing both on and off site and a real credit to the school. Well done everyone!

This week, our little Reception astronauts flew up, up and away into space!

They learnt all about our solar system and discovered the eight planets and five dwarf planets that orbit the Sun, which is a star, not just a ball of fire! The children even met some aliens and used their phonics skills to sound out their funny alien names!

PE day for Reception Class is on Mondays 

Year 1 and Year 2 had lots of chocolatey fun on Wednesday! They learned all about the journey of chocolate before putting their new knowledge to good use by making some delicious rocky roads.

The children also became chocolate taste-testers, sampling a variety of flavours and trying to guess what they were. Not every flavour was a winner, but that only made the experience even more memorable—with plenty of funny grimaces and lots of laughter along the way! 

PE days for Year 1 & Year 2 are on Mondays and Wednesdays 

Year 3 and 4 had a fantastic trip to Haslemere Museum, where they stepped back in time to Ancient Egypt.

They enjoyed learning about mummification, reading hieroglyphics and playing Egyptian games. The real artefacts and mummy were a highlight of the day, with the children particularly fascinated by seeing the mummy’s toes sticking out!

PE days for Year 3 & Year 4 are Tuesdays & Thursdays 

Year 5 have had a very busy week, completing their non-chronological reports on extinct animals and showcasing some fantastic research and writing skills. They also took part in a PSHE puberty day, approaching the discussions with great maturity and enthusiasm.

In Science, the children explored gestation periods in animals of varying sizes, making comparisons and identifying patterns between different species.

Year 6 have been equally busy as they continue rehearsing for their upcoming performance, working hard to perfect their songs. Alongside this, they have been completing their Surrey Maths School project, demonstrating impressive problem-solving and teamwork skills. It has been a wonderfully busy and engaging end to the week, with the children showing excellent curiosity and commitment to their learning despite the hot weather.

PE days for Year 5 & Year 6 are Thursdays and Fridays. All children will need to wear PE kits on Tuesdays for swimming.
